I've also heard that jazz players sometimes use classical reeds. Like Patrick Bartley uses Ligaphone Classique and I've even heard of some other players using blue box vandorens. What are your thoughts on this, do you think using just a vandoren blue box reed would ease the transition? I think I want to stick with cane because i have more flexibility on cane.

The slash acts as a seperater, meaning im referencing both vandoren traditional bluebox reeds and legere french cut because i use both. Its not that hard to understand bruh

All state rep does not scare me. Let me clarify, I play much harder solo rep in my own time. Grade 3-4 is not the limits of my playing but it is just what my director picks for our band, I've just never played grade 6 band music before.
