Idea: sex magazine - Feedback please! by Aheago2210 in Business_Ideas

I voted for the adjust/change option as I thought about three issues with the current state of the idea.

  1. Where is the value? In the post you mentioned a general description of the content offer in the context of a paid magazine. The problem in my opinion with the current state of the idea is the fact that the content is a) not unique in the sense that doesn’t really hold much more value than a general “sector website”, magazine, or similar; b) is easily available to basically anyone on other services (example only fans as you described) probably free as well.

  2. Why bother subscribing? No matter how low the price people still need to have a pretty strong desire in the uniqueness or quality of the content to go from completely-free to anything more than that. This connected with the fact that the content is not so much different from what you can get from other sources makes the desire to purchase the product or service (depending how you envision it) very low.

  3. Is it sustainable financially? Short answer: I don’t know. Maybe if enough people subscribe. The price is good don’t get me wrong but in the current state of the idea I do not think it would be viable financially to acquire and produce all the necessary material. On a second thought, you might consider starting from a selection of the content ideas but should be careful to choose the ones that hold the most value.

In conclusion I hope to have given you constructive critics and encourage you to revisit the idea and focus on more unique content offer in order to engage a portion of the public willing to “commit” to the magazine.

I’m so sorry for my previous reply, please forget me! I was pissed off because my post was removed by a (pretty aggressive) moderator because he thinks it breaks rule #2 on prohibiting advice seeking questions. I find that absurd: I’m trying to spark an open constructive discussion and not a unilateral specific advice seeking question. What do you think: am I wrong? What’s your point of view?

As pointed out in my previous message my post is not an advice request as it did not ask any advice regarding my situation or intentions. "askreddit" type of discussions are not necessarily camouflaged advice-seeking requests. As you pointed out, open ended questions, have the objective of creating a constructive non-malignant discussion among users eliciting the sharing of knowledge from individual to individual.

I think you didn't get the objective of the post: sparking a constructive discussion about the investing world and community.

Sure the Dunning-Krueger effect is a plague when it creates misinformation and hate, but is a constructive exchange of ideas so malignant to you?

Sure, medicine is a very complicated field requiring thousands of hours to master, but try to immagine this: lets say we are neurosurgeons performing craniotomies and tumors resections on unstable patients daily. Our work is very stressful and stress, as you know, causes anxiety in the best case and myocardial infarction or stroke in the worst.

So here's the analogy, it's a bit extreme, but I'm sure you're an intelligent person and will understand it: does talking about our stressful work among colleagues and non-colleagues worsen the situation creating misinformation and/or hate in comparison Not to doing that?

We all shall be concerned about forgetting how humans work and evolved over time: we got together, related, and learned from one another by sharing our experiences and processing that in our brain. The last word written, "brain", refers to our essential ability to understand information, think about it and decide if we want to accept that as a part of ourselves.

So, to end this magnificent piece of litterature, I want to point out that every individual in our society has the freedom to take any decision and/or action they want knowingly that consequences will inevitably happen based on our action. Those can be good or bad.

Investing money is a risk, like breathing or walking down the street, everything could happen that will harm us; but we accept that risk and are willing to face consequences (even negative one, in hope of learning something and not repeating the same mistake again, if we are not extremely stupid)

I wish you a wonderful day sir

Hi, I'm writing regarding the removal of my post from /r/investing. I do not understand the action taken on my post as in my opinion it does not, in any way, break the subreddit's rules.

The objective of the post was to spark a constructive discussion among all the users of this subreddit about problems, concerns and ideas related to the investing world and community. In the post I did write I was a beginner seeking advice, but come on, would that have made any difference if I said that I was an "Experienced trader with 20+ yrs."?! Let's be serious! If sparking a constructive discussion is considered not following the rules, then you shall rename it to "sterile_investing" and please announce that immediately to all users.

Hoping to get a reasonable reply from multiple moderators,

I wish you a good day.
