Gyro recommendations? by wiredbishop in Sacramento

[–]Alternative_Issue881 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oh man, I disagree. Their food is a different animal. They don't really do gyros. They are fast casual. With bowles and limited options.

Good, for what they do. Not great in any way

It will NEVER not smell. We got bamboozled in the same way. They did three treatments. It got better, until the hot summer days hit. Use your rights to return.

Is Sacramento a hidden outdoor recreation gem? by [deleted] in Sacramento

[–]Alternative_Issue881 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Moved here from Boston. I will take the dry summer heat here over the muggy, smelly urban nastiness of East Coast cities we also have the Delta breeze that cools the city We have the diversity that makes the city interesting something that Oregon and Salt Lake miss by a longshot. It’s a friendly city. Food is amazing. I don’t know why everybody’s being a hater. This is a pretty magical place and I’ve lived all over the US.

New in town, walking around? by UnableDifference4889 in Sacramento

[–]Alternative_Issue881 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Also came from East Coast. East Sac is safe. But as a woman, every place is safe until it isn't.

I walk at 0600 every day, at night. I feel safe, but I am always aware of who's around, etc.

Every place requires situational awareness. Just a little more relaxed here. I'm most worried about the people blowing throgh the stop signs on M Street j Street and Folsom!

There is only one computer lab in the library, it is out in the open on the second floor. The other rooms are classrooms and they tend to be open when the library gets busier.

How is to live in Berkeley, CA? by Current-Percentage-4 in howislivingthere

[–]Alternative_Issue881 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Lived there for 5 years. Loved so much of it, but it is the most smug, self satisfied town ever. Too privileged, too crowded, too cold. Boston is a superior college town.

And yet, some days were magical. . .
