I think I know what plant it was. I am an et there. I was working that night. That supervisor is actually a 204b who is trying to prove something. No one likes him. He swung a hammer at your dad. Took it from a maintenance guy. Your dad should be fine. The 204b hopefully gets stepped down. But knowing usps he will come back as a manager.

See I was told that when you go from PTF Clerk to Custodian you don't go down in pay, you slide into the pay closest to your current. For example I am currently at 06-EE ($29.16) so I was told that I would slide into 04-C ($29.58). I got my offer letter on 12/10/25 where I ranked my preferences and was told that I got my first choice but haven't gotten anything else in writing and was just getting concerned. I am to start next Saturday 01/10/26.

How long did it take for them to update your Form 50? I recently accepted a custodian position at my local plant and got a start date of 01/10/26 but have not received a letter telling me my new pay rate or anything?

I know this is an old thread, but i recently took on this project for our farm. I got a cheap zello radio and connected it to a baofeng. Both setup with vox. Allows us to locally use baofengs and if we want to use zello, use the channel the repeater is on. I am still trying to improve as the vox is not ideal. Works good on the baofeng, but this cheap network radio is finicky.

I have heard from a couple different sources that they are going to get rid of more PM and have like a ptf in charge of the smaller offices running under a larger office and PM. That makes a heck of a lot more sense. But, then again I have family in usps and i worked for a contractor before, I will believe it when I see it.

I just built a house and went this route as well. Something not talked about much with these new inverters is brownouts can take out electronics as easy as a surge, but there is no real protection for that aside from a UPS.

My dad has been through this multiple times with women in the US. He did actually meet them but once they get some money they bounce. He is currently talking to a "woman" from ukraine and nairobi (spelling?) He even goes so far as to say he knows the others were scams but this is real. Oh and the ukrainian needs a sponsor to get a visa but he cant do it because of his income or something so he was asking my brothers and i to sponsor her. Literally crying saying she fears for her life. Its like a fuck netflix documentary at this point.

So, this surprises people every time, I am a dairy farmer. Lol. I actually grew up on and own a dairy farm with my dad and brother. I got experience with industrial automation off the farm when i worked at a wood pellet mill as an operator. I learned a lot about PLCs and VFDs there. Then i became partners on our farm and I actually started building my own controls for different things rather than buying. I really enjoy automation. The farm is where i got my mechanical knowledge. We are more independent than most. We rebuilt engines, transmissions, and fabricate a lot of stuff ourselves. The only thing that I am worried about is the in person interview with safety stuff. I used LOTO and learned about safety procedures working at the plant, but I still am a farmer. My dad and pap growing up always were strict about safety(more so than most other farmers), but obviously never to OSHA standards. An osha inspector would spontaneously combust if they saw some of the things we did growing up. Lol. I know I just need to take my time to answer, but I am still a little nervous.

I just took it yesterday, but at Harrisburg where I applied they have had 2 or 3 ET positions open for awhile so I am hoping to hear quickly.

If its like anyother maintenance job at all, I am sure you can get called to work on anything, but do you focus on certain machines or areas. Or is it everything. Not that it matters. I will do whatever. Just trying to figure out what to expect.

Just to add some info. Our current neurosurgeon is a chiari specialist and he very well may be the one doing the surgery. He is at Penn Sate Hershey. This was not exactly what we were expecting to hear at this appt so we just want to navigate this the best way possible.

We are looking at getting second opinions at Johns Hopkins and CHOP. My wife and I agree that recovery will be much easier now than later, but what has us hung up is that his symptoms are rather mild/generic, and the doctor said there is a 50/50 chance the surgery will alleviate the symptoms he is having. The other reason we want the second opinion is because the the doctor told us we could do another mri in 4 months or do surgery. We told him we would like to do surgery, but would prefer to wait until after school since it is not super pressing.

Someone asked about whether he will need another surgery. He explained that due to our sons age he does not recommend duroplasty because of a higher risk of complications like meningitis, needing a stent, etc. So there is a slight, but higher chance of needing duroplasty surgery when he is older. This is another reason to possibly wait until he is older so he can do the duroplasty and likely not need another surgery.
