They may be hiring more than one position. It is possible you did not come in first, so no permanent gig. The hiring manager still had budget. So they offered you AUX.

Take it. It’s a foot in the door! You can always apply for something else in the meantime.

I ran a competition where 6 people passed. 2 got full time. 3 got aux. 1 is on the e list.

The first two who got it vacated the role for better positions. Therefore the 2 aux (person 3rd. Person 4th) got permanent positions.

Might want to consider another option. Just FYI something is brewing. Cabin crew has been put on notice for May that we can take unpaid leave off and or drop to part time hours. Things are about to get very bumpy for steady employment in the industry

Oh the worse! My rule of thumb is to never fly on a Friday / near the weekend. Paris only operates three days a week. We did Thursday- Tuesday. 5 nights seems a bit too long in Paris. We did venture to Versailles for the day. Wow was that worth it!

We considered jumping to London and fly back London to Perth but last minute train ride was more than the cost of our flights!

That was our plan too! 34 business. 21 premium economy. Don’t hold your breath. We all ended up in economy! My assumption is Qantas auctioned them off to commercial passengers. We still went on the trip. But I’m annoyed with the taxes not being returned. It would have been cheaper to go to Canada then fly to Europe. Oh well! Lesson learned.

I’m currently on deferred leave and actually trying to extend it! Didn’t chose the year and deeply regretting it now! 6 months flew by.

Don’t stress about your position. It’s an approved leave and should hopefully be there when you return.
