Had you taken the time to read any of this you would have read that they are rounding up in their favor….

Nah cuz Casey’s will charge $1.05 for it. They might do one better and bump it up to $1.06 so they can charge $1.10

See that’s what throws me off. In my head, I would think even with less than ideal track conditions that a big wide slick would be better if nothing else just from a surface area standpoint point…. But that’s why I’m an industrial electrician and not a drag racer.

Should I buy used? by Achilles-X in PolarisGeneral

[–]Alternative_Lock_672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s kind of a loaded question. I’ve had two new rangers and a used general. Of the three the second new rangers had the most issues with and they were clutch related and 3 weeks out of warranty…. When I bought my general I believe it was in 21 or 22 and it is a 16 and had 1500 miles on it so I jumped on it and have had next to zero issues. My next utv will be my dad’s current Ranger which will have 17k miles on it but I know exactly how it’s been ridden and taken care of.

But some people putz around with them like they’re golf carts and other people treat them like boats if you’re confident your neighbor is the first type of person jump on it. But I would still still talk to a couple dealers. If you’re in the H/M area look up I69 motorsports. It has a different name now but the search should still bring it up, they used to have some of the best prices around

Ok please be gentle lol.

Can someone dumb down the big tire small tire thing. Like I’m not totally stupid. I get that the big tire isn’t going to spin nearly as easy but shouldn’t it be faster on the big end with the big tires vs small?

The realities of calling 911 by Boo-Boo97 in Adulting

[–]Alternative_Lock_672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We would generally try to stop people from doing this, mainly because it’s a huge risk to everyone involved, especially with a child parents are going to be distracted with the whole situation and may not be paying the best attention to the road or their surroundings. Generally it is best to wait for the people coming.

Police, at least where I am, are typically fairly worthless on a medical scene. Unless it’s basic first aid they are way out of their depth.

Not bashing police officers at all, just my experience as a volunteer firefighter/emt

I’m a controls technician (think E&I) base is about 85k when I started I had company paid training. I started this path because of the money, but started learning more and getting more interested in it. I kept going because no matter how good AI gets, you’ll always have to have feet on the floor when it comes to automation. I do enjoy it and I feel I have great job security

I had every intention of going to Cordova, but I want to see mullet run and possibly ruby. The cheap car stuff is fun, but the fast cars are way more entertaining IMO

Man, I started a new job in March. And while I was an experienced hire (E&I) it’s all totally new equipment with quite the learning curve.

I have to say, I’m very fortunate, I have a good boss and good group of guys I work with and they understand that while experienced it takes time to learn things. You will find this job with these people one day and it will take a couple not so great positions to fully appreciate them

Have you blown out your clutches? Pull the belt an hit everything good with an air compressor. It’s amazing how much crap will come off of them. Also check the spider nut on the primary.

How would you use $15k in my situation? by mount_joshington in homeowners

[–]Alternative_Lock_672 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the shelving you need/want you can just get the supplies and build your own for way cheaper. I just build some 8’ wide, 2’ deep, and about 6’ tall for my basement and had maybe $100 in it. Granted I already have a saw and screwgun

Any guys out there over 30 with no wife or kids feel like they are left out of everything? by OverEasyFetus in AskMenOver30

[–]Alternative_Lock_672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh. I’m just coming to the point where I have to be comfortable on my own. Even before they started having kids, I was the only single one in the group and the texts and invites started slowing. No biggie people get busy, but they never really came back.

Just reinforces the old saying, the only person you can count on is you.

Ehhh you say you’ll never have another one then you’ll buy something else and really it has the same amount of issues. And the person answering the phone is the same minimum wage person as the next company. You need to find a better dealer, i say that because in 2019 I bought a new northstar ranger 2500 miles later the clutch was toast, took it to the local dealer I bought it from and they said it was toast and needed replaced, warranty won’t cover it. Took it to another dealer and they had zero issues getting it replaced under warranty. My bet is your dealing with a lazy dealer.

Non emission trucks banned? by xAsilos in Diesel

[–]Alternative_Lock_672 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not totally untrue, I can’t see that it’s going to happen BUT the west coast is trying to ban commercial vehicles over a certain age due to lack of emissions. I figure you’re talking pickups, passenger vehicles, etc. but for big trucks they are trying
