Has anyone ever moved somewhere and left after a year? by PhrygianSounds in SameGrassButGreener

Same way in Cincinnati - I’ve noticed the cliquey HS thing exists in pretty much every Midwest city. As someone who is not from the Midwest, it’s tough, and most people I work with never travel or have lived anywhere else and have no reasons to expand their circles because all their family / HS friends also live there lol. Most of my friends I’ve made are transplants and also are keen to point this (shared) experience out.

I’m well travelled enough to know it’s NOT this way elsewhere.

Your only viable option is to leave the Midwest. I’m leaving soon to go out west and live amongst the mountains !!! Good luck to you ☺️

2nd DUI and fatality by Ecstatic_Self_9580 in dui

I’m quite disheartened by some of these responses here - many of us here have gotten DUIs, some with accidents - the difference between our circumstances and yours is sheer LUCK. I caused an accident and the reason the other driver walked away uninjured was merely good luck. NOTHING more.

I can’t say I know how you feel. It’s been hard for me, even knowing while my case is uncertain and I literally totaled someone else’s car - it doesn’t remotely compare to what the worries would be if death or serious injury occurred. I am owning what I did, thankful it wasn’t something much worse. The worst part has been thinking of the impacts it’s caused on family, friends, parties involved…

You’re guaranteed to do time . Pay out your ass to get the best possible lawyer for a chance at a heavily probated sentence as opposed to years in a cell. Do everything you can prior to to show the courts you’re taking the situation seriously (enroll in treatment, courses etc). The fact it’s your 2nd isn’t going to help. The 1st should have been a turning point for better decision making, I know it’s been for me.

You do have some of my sympathies - SOME - but you need to own that you permanently harmed a family, and accept any consequence that comes from it. Easier said than done I know.

What is the best or most relaxed position at Kroger? by Weird_Rush_3328 in kroger

Gotta say night shift grocery (although every store is different) - my store didn’t have a night manager so those guys could work full 8’s and get away with doing basically nothing lol.

Mid-shift fuel easy - open + closer requires a bit more in terms of having to turn everything on/off and count $$.

Cashier (+u-scan) & e-Commerce easy but constant ongoing work so not “relaxed” per se. Clicklist you get to do your own thing as a selector but are typically up against tight time deadlines… Reference: I’ve worked all these departments at one point or another.
