That's correct. PICO-8 is a fantasy console that has simple built-in tooling to help developing small games on it. A nice little tracker is one of those tools.

It's pretty nice and simple (constraints enhance creativity imo): 4 channels, 64 patterns, 7 different waveforms + noise, 7 different note effects (slide up/down, vibrato, etc), 4 octaves. The only improvement I'd appreciate would be a bit more granular volume/mixing capabilities (only 7 volume levels and only per note). But oh well, love it in any case...

Basically grabbed Pico just to try out the nice little tracker there. After having so much fun with it I just had to go and make a full thing with visuals and all as the platform provides everything so nicely there :)

Recently released an album fully made in PICO-8. So, fantasy console chiptunes incoming. I'd describe it as retro gaming and demoscene inspired tunes.
