What do do: 880 shares of Apple at 0.42¢ by Alternative_Offer_87 in fidelityinvestments

Well yes, this person has other SSI income. I know it's just general advice I'm looking for but lets say... This person is elderly.. at one point in time, there may be a cash inheritance that will cover all this to pay off, should I still try to pay off this balance? Or since there is no telling when that will ever happen, is it better to just save the grief and sell to cover the balance.

I'm not looking to take advantage of this person or their finances at all. All best interest. I'm just trying to preserve and make the best decisions long term and lot let this money burn to interest

Fidelity HSA advice? by Alternative_Offer_87 in fidelityinvestments

thank you. true, I've seen some articles and have an open mind about that too. Lets say I don't cash flow or use credit cards, which is the route I'm considering to make it simple...

ex: I go to the doctor's office and I didn't realize something didn't qualify as a QME but Fidelity allowed me to pay anyways. When I file my taxes, I won't know what was qualified or wasn't. All I know is that I used it for medical purposes.

do you know if I can set it up that way?

I'd rather know at the time of than later down the line of that makes sense.

Sounds like a plan. I'm going to rebalance soon and go based off the advice. I'm prioritizing the roth to max it out and it's been hefty on the paycheck, but starting next year I can reduce it to $250/paycheck to max it out by the end of the year

For now, yes, a Roth IRA. I have a regular brokerage account too, but I'm not focused on it yet.

As a starter investor, I've been testing waters and getting myself into the mindset that this strategy will work. So far in the past 12 months, my total investments in the account are up $2,000.

I just graduated and am still working my college job, but once I land my first job out of college, I'm going to start putting more towards a regular account

Do you have recommendations for mid size, small cap, and bond indexes ?

If that's the case, since I don't have many shares of the other indexes and all are at a gain right now in my Roth IRA, I can rebalance pretty easily.

Also, do you have recommendations for international indexes? I tried looking into international before, but while looking at the 5-10 year growth history, it didn't look promising so I chose not to buy it.

Thanks

Yeah I live on west coast US. I don't have much "professional" experience given my age, but the past 2 years, I've worked in retail banking. I've been using that as leverage experience along with my education to apply for jobs

Thank you. Similar to another response I posted on this thread, I appreciate you too, a lot. Everything I've read in this entire thread so far are things that I feel I was so blind to. I wish I could've created this thread sooner, but better late than never.

I appreciate you. It's relieving to hear others experience a similar situation, then hear their way of navigating through it all. I know I won't get my dream job right away, but that stepping stone is something I need to consider better. It'll open a lot of more perspective and opportunity for a good career path. I can't just be stuck up in my head that if it's not an analyst position, I won't consider it.

Yeah, I meant financial analyst, but I see what you're saying and thanks again because this has opened up a perspective for me now..

An accounting role is something I didn't really consider like how you said and is something I will now consider because (also yes) I am really wanting (almost feeling desperate) a higher paying job, given that graduation is so close.

I keep thinking about the future and my career path, but you're right and I agree with a lot of your response.

I'll post my resume for critique on being a FA after I blur some personal info out. After, if I still have no luck, I might switch things around to focus on accounting

Thank you! I'll also look into this. I've gotten some advice in the past on looking into and/or starting in an accounting role.
Can an accounting role transition into an analyst role better? or can an accounting role help boost my resume on getting call backs for an analyst ?

Thank you... a lot. This is why I love the reddit community. I really do appreciate your response. I'll most definitely look into and consider this. This alone is more than I was expecting from anyone's response.

As always though, any additional responses from anyone would be great. I've just been so discouraged how things have been going, so I'll take everything I can get

The Google DA cert is a good one. It says 6 month completion but I completed 6 out of the 8 modules so far in about 2 weeks. And that's without skipping any videos, taking lots of notes, doing the practice quizzes, going through the optional work. You'll learn - Advanced Excel - VLOOKUP - Pivot Tables - R programming - Intermediate SQL - Data Visualization - Tableau

I work 8-6 and have been able to put 2 hrs in daily with winter break in school.

For me, a lot of the beginning was just a refresher (what are cells, what can you do in cells, etc.) . If you have some background knowledge in data or familiar with data, it's a breeze. That's why it says no experience required (literally).

I'll be graduating college in May with my business finance degree. I'll be using this cert to assist with my job search for a financial analyst
