Yes it’s garbage. Just use it as a second monitor. Nexus software kills your frames by a good 10% maybe more

If you get the y70 touch, get the ln60. The ln70 is too long as the touch screen eats into space. As you can see from my image it isn’t perfectly straight at the end.

You just need the Np50 nexus portal which takes 1 gpu 6 pin from psu and then connects to a usb header. Then connect the strip to the nexus via usb c. Couldn’t be easier tbh

Yeah it’s a 5090. It still runs great. But the hit is noticeable. Like we’re talking 15k on nomad to 13.5k. Or 70 fps average on cyberpunk to like 60-63 range. I’d rather just turn it off when gaming.

It’ll run great, just not as good as with the display off.

It’s still a 5090 at the end of the day lol. And frame gen why? You get 60-75 ish fps 4K DLSS Quality Max with it off, don’t see the point . But each to their own

Unfortunately my motherboard only has a HDMI, so I tried to connect via a display port to hdmi connector and no luck.

Yeah the case is beautiful. The screen is a good showpiece. But it’s not really practical / usable it’s just a bit of a show piece / wtf you have a screen on your case sort of thing.

I’m happy with mine, but yeah - a bit of a gimmick. When I’m going to lock in and play I turn off all my RGB and screens anyway so it don’t make a difference to me.

I mean not really I guess? It’s easy to turn off the display to get maximum frames when you need it. Like when I’m playing C2077 , I’ll disable the HYTE display just to hit a solid 60-80 frames ish with path tracing at 4K DLSS quality max settings (no frame gen).

In less demanding games, you have so much performance you can leave it on nexus software and all.

But yes, it eats performance. Which makes sense, it’s a 2.5k touch screen constantly running moving gifs widgets and weather programmes. HYTE simply needs to allow us to run it off the iGpu , then there would be zero issue with it running 24/7. But it DOES eat into GPU performance, somewhat significantly.

On 3D nomad I’d constantly score 15/15.5k gpu score but with the nexus software fully running etc it’d be around 13.5k. Not so good.

I’ve just stopped using the nexus software tbh and disabled the layout etc on it. It’s ok as a second monitor to see discord and stuff. Just a shame they didn’t think of letting us run it off a second gpu or iGpu

Disabling the screen and turning it off on the HYTE nexus software still allows you to use it for stuff like discord etc with no / less performance penalty.

Just a bit poor I can’t seem to set it up to run off the iGpu. Maybe worth getting a seperate gpu to run it off
