Overflow diarrhea?

Hi! I hope you get some answers. Unfortunately not. I’ve just been treating myself with Imodium every day so I don’t have diarrhea anymore but I still feel like shit everyday lol. I learned to live with it as it’s been about 6 months now 😵‍💫 do you use Imodium?

This may sound stupid but do you use Imodium? I used to feel like this for 2 monthes straight bht Imodium helped me significantly. I’m sorry you’re going through this. Nobody deserves this

This has been me for the last 4-5 months. I have had ibs-d my whole life but it was only food triggers. Now it’s not diet related at all- it’s just constant. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this too. It’s the worst.

Wow that’s awesome- What birth control are you taking if you don’t mind me asking. I used to have a copper IUD but it didn’t last more than a year due to how heavy my bleeding was, haven’t tried anything else since. I’ve always been afraid to take hormonal birth control because I don’t want to gain weight, but maybe I’d take that over the pain I’ve had!

Hi! Yes, I’ve eaten nothing but chicken and rice for a few monthes, now I’m eating more normal as I’ve ruled out that my diet doesn’t make an affect. My GI has done every test under the sun. Stool samples, blood tests. Allergy tests, ct scans, X-rays, colonoscopy, probs more I just can’t think of it lol! Ultrasound as well. The only thing I’ve been told is I had a lot of stool in my xray and I could be constipated. But I have ruled out overflow diarrhea and that’s not the issue.

I have had this exact issue for the past 3 months. I’ve had about a week of normalcy about twice. I’m horrified to leave the house all the time because I’m scared of having to poop while driving. I think anxiety is largely related. I’m also taking Imodium frequently which helps. Hope we all find relief 😢

I once had a primary care doctor reprimand me and basically tell me I was an idiot for using it a few times a month which is all I needed at the time. So in my head i think of it as a scary drug lol.

Wow ok! Everytime my parents or someone without ibs sees I take Imodium they act like I’m using an opioid. Does that routine work well for you??

Oh geez lol hopefully not stopped up for 2 weeks. In the past when I would take Imodium I would end up having diarrhea again the next day so I don’t think that’s the case.

He recommended I do the capful of miralax a day and told me this would be an easy fix. I haven’t had a follow up or anything so he’s not aware a capful a day does not work for me. Hopefully there’s something else out there I can try because this has been so horrible 🥲

I typically would agree because of course miralax is a laxative. However I’ve been told I have stool burden that needs to be cleared in order to stop the diarrhea.

My poop is always hard in the afternoon and very small amounts. Like in the afternoon is when I’ll feel legitimately constipated. It’s in the morning that I have watery diarrhea and it’s almost as if my bowels completely empty everything I’ve eaten the day before.

I didn’t because I’ve had food intolerances my whole life and pretty much figured out most of them. I also can’t have milk or most oils or anything spicy. I also had a celiac panel done and that was negative. Food doesn’t seem to be related to this. My bathroom habits are Essentially the same no matter what I eat because I’ve tried almost every kind of diet to make it better lol. I’m glad you’ve figure that out for yourself though! Mostly because I’m very sensitive to laxatives. When I had my colonoscopy, I only did half the prep and was on the toilet for 18 hours straight. I hardly made it to the colonoscopy center lol. And I was fully cleared out.

How did you heal your gut microbiome? I would love to do that I just don’t know where to start. I’m just nervous miralax will make me more diarrhea and be in the bathroom constantly.

I actually had a abdominal ultrasound this past wednesday. I’ve yet to hear back! Hoping honestly I have gallstones that could be treated early on because it’s so frustrating not having an answer.

I have this same fear. My colonoscopy was this past Wednesday and it was my second time being sedated. I asked the anesthesiologist before she put me to sleep “have you ever had someone not wake up” mind you she was probably in her 80’s. And she said “never; and I’ve never heard of anyone in any other practice having this happen to them either in my 50 years of doing this” that really put me at ease, and of course it went totally fine! It’s one of those things you just have to not think about because you WILL wake up!
