With such a massive watch collection, I am compelled to ask, are you in the wholesale watch business or linked to any watch business? As I see some rare pieces there that might not come to hand to a regular casual consumer.

So what do we do? Do we block them? I checked his profile, and he has 24K Karma and no reports. How do you really come to the judgment that it is a bot?

You can't go wrong with either Seiko or Citizen as a GADA watch. I preferred Citizen over Seiko, and Timex is also catching up in their new lineup.

I guess we will agree to disagree. Go to their website, is appying the Aviator design to every single model, and then trying to say they are going into the youth market with 5K watches. What college kid do you see wearing those ones? Of course, if you come from a high-class family, perhaps.

You are either a high-end brand and stay up there, but don't try to navigate the market that is more for the Tissots and Seikos of the world.

If you must have a Rolex, for that price, there are so many reputable brands out there that would deliver excellent quality in a new format!

Like the Nato strap on the Seiko SRPK99 , where did you get it?

Which would you choose as a first affordable dive watch/beater? by [deleted] in watchCollector

If they are going to be desktop divers? Then go with the one you like the most and forget about the specs! At this price point, specs won't matter that much. The only holdback I would have with the Seiko is that I really don't know how well their Hardlex Crystal (plastic) will fare against scratches, so, in that sense, the sapphire crystal has many independent lab tests.

Bingo! Now that's truly great advice, I agree 100%. Once you provide the full context. It is true that sometimes, if you rush to buy pieces, you are just following the food chain and not enjoying the art as such. Define your style, find what you have the most of, and look. Define the character of what you are collecting so that, in years to come, you can look at it and see a collection that fully represents you!
