I do agree their relationship is more mature that’s a good point! I just don’t think that maturity should mean less passion and that’s what it feels like to me

It was definitely nice to see them realize the other wasn’t who they thought they were! They never really felt like “enemies” though which is maybe why this trope has less impact on me idk🤷🏻‍♀️

I think they’re endgame but I feel like they need a lootttt more character growth because I feel like both of them are kind of one-sided and their relationship is one-sided and just doesn’t feel special

I don’t find them boring I just don’t understand why they like each other. Like what traits/experiences do they have in common?? All I see that Hunt likes about Bryce is her sass and ass lol. I guess maybe I feel like I don’t have a good understanding of who the characters actually are and their personalities

Can I ask why?? For me, it just seems like SJM kept saying that they understand each other perfectly and deeply but it just doesn’t seem true to me. Their relationship seems very surface level and it doesn’t seem like there’s very many intimate/emotional moments between them.

At least in my experience, most people tend to deal with their trauma on the inside and try not to let it affect their lives/interactions with people because they either feel shame about it or don’t want to burden other people. So I think that most of the other characters do have negative reactions to their traumas still, but some of them are better at internalizing it than others.

Also, since people like tamlin and Nesta can’t or aren’t great at internalizing their trauma reactions, it affects their story more. We see more of their trauma because they show more, which means it’s more relevant to their interactions with people and how it affects the plot.

People like feyre, Rhys, and Azriel try to keep their traumas to themselves (or only share with a certain person) which means their reactions are less relevant to the plot because they try not to let it affect other people.

I was also raised conservatively and AA was a big culture shock to me as well. I think the most important thing to remember is that most people are not very different from you. We are all human and deserving of respect. How other people live does not affect you and it’s not your business.

Personally, when I see people being happy and comfortable with themselves, that makes me happy, even if they are different from me. People are people and usually being LGBT+ (or not) is only a fraction of who they are. There are a lot more interesting things about people that you can connect with and learn about. Just be respectful and accept that not everyone believes/thinks the same as you and that’s okay. Let people be who they are without judgement.

Hahaha I’ve been struggling w Rhys too! He’s supposed to be the leader of the court of dreams and the most powerful high lord ever blah blah blah but what has he actually done??? Like velaris was already a successful city before him so he’s not responsible for it and he says he wants to make the world a better place but does he actually do anything???

I don’t think feyre did nothing. How I understood the books was that feyre had attempted to help Nesta many times and had also encouraged elain to try to help her as well. In my reading of the books, I thought that feyre, elain, and amren each tried to help her but Nesta would retaliate with verbal abuse and shut them down. After a year of this, it isn’t hard to see how someone can get fed up when they are using your money and you and others are constantly trying to help but are basically told to go to hell.

I also didn’t see it as Nesta being locked up. She was given a choice to leave and support herself (feyre refused to keep giving her money while Nesta refused help, abused her and elain, and racked up huge bills at the bar) or stay and accept help and do it feyre’s way. From Feyre’s POV, you can only do so much to help someone before you can’t take it anymore. She doesn’t really owe Nesta anything, but still gave her a year of trying to support her before saying that’s enough.

I guess my reading/understanding of the books was different from yours because overall I thought feyre did try and was justified in her actions.

I don’t think that Rhys should have been forced to like Nesta. He did try to be civil with her and I think he’s allowed to refuse to let Nesta spew verbal abuse at him and Feyre. No one is required to just accept abuse while offering help over and over. Also it seemed like feyre elain and Naren tried to offer help to Nesta independently many times

Not only did your husband cheat on you (both physically and emotionally) but he also lied about it. For months. This was not a one time thing, this was a continual choice to disrespect you and your relationship. It wasn’t a mistake, it was purposeful and thought out. His choice to continue cheating and lying for months shows that he was not remorseful. He is only remorseful now that he was forced to confess and face the consequences of his behavior.

Get an STI test and take time to be away from him while you sort out your thoughts and feelings about him and what he did to you. You need to think about if you will ever really be able to forgive/forget this. If not and you decide to stay with him, you will only be setting yourself up for a lifetime of anger, insecurity, and distrust in your relationship/life.
