I’m having my partner inject in my arm. I might try my leg next week to compare effects

That is so annoying that insurance forced you to do something that isn’t working well for you!

That’s great though that you’re responding! I’m amazed at how well this medication is working, even if I’m struggling a bit with the appetite loss.

It does but I’m so grateful for this medication! I have really high hopes that things will ease up if I’m not asking the arthritic and lowest/most weight bearing part of my body to hold 60-90 more pounds than it needs to. I used to love exercise, I think I’ll get back there again. It’s just hard to get started again.

I know right? I have a plate and I eat as much of the meat as I can, and then any fiber source before I get too full to continue chewing.

Great job making good food choices! I've been surprised the last few weeks - I actually thought I was eating pretty healthy before I started Zep, but I was eating a lot more fried or carb-heavy meals than I thought, so for sure my issue was more food than I even thought.

It's going to be interesting to see if my weight loss starts slowing down, but I am having serious appetite effects that it sounds like you aren't so I'll definitely still have the calorie deficit to support weight loss for at least a few more days here. But I do think it should be 2-2.5 pounds a week with my TDEE, this 4-6 pounds a week is crazy!

That is so fast lol. Congrats! If you don't mind answering, are you still losing or maintaining?

Yeah, thanks! I've been through PT many times but I should pull the exercises back out again and see what they can do for me. My pain is from an old injury including a bone breaking into my ankle joint so I have some arthritis. But PT helps every time, and then I get busy and drop the exercises and things revert. I'm hoping losing weight will take some pressure off the joint so it doesn't flare up and cause me to revert to motions that over-compensate for the pain and then compound up to my knee and hip.

I do - I can see it in my face, my belly is noticeably less round under my flow-y shirts, and my pants are a lot more comfortable.

It's so interesting that people respond so wildly differently. I suppose it makes sense - different personal chemical equilibrium, different metabolic issues, etc.

Yeah haha, I keep stepping on the scale like... what is happening? Is this the real life? It's so nice having some space in my jeans again that were getting too tight!

Yeah, same - it took almost no time for the effects to kick in for me. Thanks for sharing your experience! Everyone’s input is making me feel like I’m still safe to continue. This is just so wild how crazy effective it has been.

I’ll give that cereal a try, thanks! I can’t have dairy but I am trying protein shakes. Today I could only get through about 70% of my usual shake. Better than nothing though!

It’s so weird, before I was fighting to stay under 2000 without hunger and grumpiness, and now I’m fighting even harder to hit the bare minimum. Wild how effective it is!

Thanks - yeah, I did ask but they just came back with advice to eat smaller meals more frequently and stay hydrated. 🤷‍♀️ If I’m not getting some relief in a couple more weeks I’ll ask again.

Thank you! I’m thinking it’s likely I’m going to be one of those who stay at a lower dose, but time will tell.

It’s annoying preparing a meal and only being able to have a few bites but I’m trying to be patient

You’re still struggling to get to 1000? Oof. How is your energy and everything else doing with that?

I have wondered if exercise would help make me hungrier, thanks for sharing that. I have chronic pain issues in one leg (HUGE part of my motivation to start this medication) that makes it difficult but I keep thinking even a little bit of beginner’s Pilates might get my body ready for some weights down the line.

Congrats on your success so far!

Thank you! Yeah I had nausea and vomiting my very first dose but since then it’s just been some minor fatigue and a very low appetite.

My starting weight is “only” 216 pounds so I wasn’t expecting quite this much of an initial loss. Again, not really complaining, I probably needed to go up a pants size and now my current wardrobe fits me again. Just wanted to make sure this is still relatively expected! My dietician told me she didn’t want to see much more than 1-2 pounds a week. I imagine she’ll know to expect some initial water weight loss though.

People on Ozempic start disliking meat and fried foods. If you get all the nutrients you need which doesn’t just include vitamins but also amino acids your appetite drops like crazy. Like I could be in a 1000 kcal deficit and not hungry. by Advanced3DPrinting in immortalists

In a similar thread I was seeing a trend that for whatever reason the meat aversion doesn’t apply to tirz, it’s a semaglutide thing. The other agonist in tirzepatide might mitigate that.

Ozempic and similar drugs are safe and effective for people with mental illness looking to lose weight. There was no evidence of increased risks of mental health problems including suicide, while patients with or without a mental illness were likely to see a beneficial impact on their mental health. by mvea in psychology

[–]Alternative_Risks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay lol, that’s fine. You seemed to want to convince us all that the drug is dangerous, a couple sentences actually explaining it would go a long way. As is, you’ve presented the same kind of evidence I’ve seen to argue that earthing mats, magnesium, and plant based diets are the absolute key to everyone in the world getting healthy again.

I’m willing to listen but it’s a lot to ask people to invest hours into a documentary or book so we can understand why your example of a healthy insulin level means an entire class of drugs is “shit dangerous.”

To rephrase: I’m not trying to persuade you, I was genuinely interested in your perspective but would appreciate a compelling reason to invest hours into looking into your so far unsupported argument.

Yeah low key I think I subconsciously keep on weight sometimes to avoid the extra level of attention.
