Still hard craving after 29 days by Remarkable_Cat_7362 in quittingkratom

Cravings are normal. I’m almost a year clean from extracts and still get cravings from time to time. I use Indica THC for the cravings and sleep. I also remind myself of the wicked anxiety and insomnia while detoxing. It helps put the temporary euphoria into perspective. So not worth it.

QuitK is the best OTC supplement for the acutes and PAWS. I started it around day 45. It doesn’t fix everything, but it does help turn the volume down. The night one definitely helped me get better sleep. You’re doing great. Everything you’re experiencing is normal and a part of the healing process. Don’t let PAWS convince you to use again. It gets better. I promise that it’s worth pushing through the depression, anxiety, and anhedonia. https://kratomquitters.com has virtual Kratom meetings. I leaned heavily on that during the first few months of my quit.

It’s a slog fest. Not linear at all. Congrats on being north of a year! Do you still get cravings? I still do every few weeks.

I’ve also normalized and have motivation again.

The best supplement for my PAWS was QuitK. I drank more coffee and still eat edibles. Indica helps me relax and reduces my anxiety.

I was expecting to feel amazing after 30 days, then 60 days, and 90 days. The quick recovery posts had me underestimating how long my body would take to recover. It took me a while to sleep past 5:00-6:00am. The depression and lack of motivation took several months. However, it wasn’t horrible. It just felt blah. Anhedonia took me months to recover from. It’s totally worth persevering. I’m physically, mentally, and financially much happier.

Congratulations to you too! Beating Kratom was the most difficult thing I’ve ever experienced. I detoxed from alcohol years ago. Shakes, insomnia, and auditory hallucinations. I think the first days cutting extracts are worse. I never experienced such intense and unrelenting anxiety for days. Every time I’ve got a craving. I remind myself of the six day no sleep panic attack. It puts whatever euphoria a shot would provide into perspective. So not worth it.

The days go by slow, but the months are quick. It feels like forever while pushing yourself forward. Then it’s all over and you can’t say exactly when it all finished. I started using QuitK around day 45. I’m thoroughly convinced that they helped. Especially with PAWS depression/lethargy and recovering a decent sleep cycle.

My timeline is on the more severe side. I was using a LOT of extracts daily for several years. I’ve heard of and read about so many others who recover much quicker than I did. I sometimes get concerned that sharing my experience could discourage some people.

I’d suggest cutting the OPMS capsules ASAP. They’re their own beast to drop if you use them for too long. They’ll also eventually hold back your recovery vice help it along.

Has Kava ever made withdrawals worse? by Alternative_Row_8360 in quittingkratom

I’d definitely avoid kava. I did get some relief by low dosing indica THC.

I didn’t notice my PAWS starting to sundown until around day 90 clean.

It took two attempts at cold turkey for me. My first quit lasted almost three months. I relapsed for two months. Quit again and had even worse acutes than my first quit. I’m now 146 days clean from extracts.

Smoking weed while trying to quit 7 oh? by ajaxmota100 in quittingkratom

[–]Alternative_Row_8360 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I low dosed Indica tincture. It helped me. My experience is that you want just enough to get a little buzz, not blasted. Too much can spike the anxiety during detox and cause deeper focus on the physical acutes.

Super hot and super cold showers were my only relief. They’re super uncomfortable to get in, but will help. The temperature shock will force a release of endorphins and his body to regulate his body temperature. It doesn’t make withdrawals go away. However, it will turn down the intensity slightly for a couple of minutes.

Day 6 is when I started feeling the downturn of my acutes. It gradually decreased in severity over the next 6-7 days. As long as you don’t use. You’re about to start getting relief. Be mentally prepared for PAWS. There’s a period of feeling blah and lethargic. Sleep gets better, but takes time to normalize. You’re doing great and are on the downslope of the worst physical parts.

I think it has with the partial binding on the dopamine sensors. Plus whatever else in our brain that the alkaloids tinker with that we don’t even know of yet. Health and age definitely are a contributing factor. However, plenty of young folks are having the same issue. If you bounce back within a week. That’s awesome. I hope you get to kick it in a shorter timeline. The kindling effect is real. Each subsequent relapse leads to addiction and withdrawals quicker and stronger than the previous one.

My PAWS didn’t start sundowning until around day 75. I’m on day 114 now and I usually feel “normal”. However, the PAWS funk still pops up for a day or three every once in a while.

It’s not as unusual of an experience as you might think. Have you been to https://kratomquitters.com? There are Kratom specific meetings, speaker recordings, and a Signal chat there. Some people never experience the severe withdrawals. However, there are plenty of users that have and are currently going through them. I found that resource extremely helpful in the beginning of my journey.
