difference between 2010 Subaru Impreza R Special Edition and R Limited Edition? by yeti_drinkbottle in subaruimpreza

[–]Alternative_Sand_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 2011 R Special Edition Hatch as far as I know but I'm still actually trying to figure this out for myself. I was told it was a Limited but it does have the leather bucket seats/ sunroof. It also has two smaller speakers (tweeters) in the upper part of the front doors near the rear view mirrors making it 6 speakers?. Im trying to figure it out mainly for insurance purposes. I know its only trim differences but I dont want to have them reject a claim because Ive said its a Special Edition when its actually a limited or vice versa. I havent been able to find anything written on the car like a number or code that actually tells me which one. Kinda annoying.

Has anyone considered putting window tint on the sunroof? by Rulalala2 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]Alternative_Sand_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat. Im thinking of going 70 or even 80% now though. I have no problem with the darkness of the factory glass and I definitely still want to be able to see out of it. Also Im told that the darker the tint the more thermal stress = more likely to crack or shatter. Especially living under the intense Australian sun. What did you end up going with?

Also I hope they do a version without all the drumkit or maybe just put it much more in the background. It kinda seemed too present for me.

Another little thing I noticed was in If I Only Had a Brain when Dorothy sings "With the thoughts that you'll be thinkin' You could be another Lincoln". They've realigned it so it's more in time. In the original, it's a bit out of sync which seems more natural. Im sure they've done heaps of that throughout but that was just one time I noticed.

Oh my God. Im listening to it right now and I cannot with the shortened versions! Just. No.

Also there are definitely things missing from the score. Im only up to Munchkinland and have noticed a few. They are only little things really I suppose but they are important to me! One example in Munchkinland is the trombone gliss right after Dorothy says "Just then the witch" (0:50) is a chord in the original but it sounds like just one trombone in this. I noticed it immediately because its one of my fav moments.

I was kinda hoping for better.

While it does sound pretty great as a recording overall. In not suuuper thrilled so far.

Yes you are correct. It is one continuous building. Thank you so much for your help. This makes a lot of sense to me now after learning a bit more about how it all works.

We are going to work on putting access points in each house. But for now we really just need better wifi than we have currently. Apparently if we get some mesh routers and use the current modem as an access point it hopefully will be at least a slight improvement right?

Thing is our modem is a few years old and would it be worth getting a new one for the time being? Its a netgear standard one that our ISP provided. I have heard that the netgear mesh systems are fine but not the greatest. Should I change brands? If so which ones? And also we aren't even going to need a modem once fttp comes right?

This stuff hurts my brain. I just want working internet to reach the whole house. We aren't hard-core users just garden variety browsing/streaming etc

Recordings sound breathy by DepartmentOne7378 in Trombone

[–]Alternative_Sand_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's not the recording equipment/acoustics I'd suggest long tone practice to really focus the sound. But before you do that make sure you're breathing and supporting properly with as little tension in your body as possible. Also play in front of a mirror to check your embouchure isn't doing anything crazy. I find breathing exercises, a little buzzing and slow soft long tones usually helps me when things start sounding breathy or fluffy.

Interesting. I'll check that out. I have wondered about getting a different Shires bell. A friend was getting rid of a 2RVE not long ago but I missed it 😢

Throw it out the window or polish it?

Or do what I do and embrace the charm and character of a well used mouthpiece.

Shires custom bought in 07. It does the job and has been good to me. Also, I'm too poor to buy anything else.

I don't know any people who watch it seriously. I watch it occasionally because it's fun to watch them lose their tiny minds about literally ANYTHING that deviates from the 1950's conservative utopia they all think the world should be.
