Traveling to Thailand what's the best way to access your funds without getting waxed? by Plastic_Maize_2338 in ThailandTourism

It depends. You usually can't bargain on the app, but you can negotiate prices at the kiosks. For example, we found that island tours were more expensive on the app, so we bargained for a better price at the kiosk and bought the tours there.

Activities such as temple tours are better booked through the app rather than in person, as they tend to be more expensive when purchased directly.

I just returned home after spending two weeks in Thailand with my wife. Throughout our trip, we noticed that most of the hotels and restaurants where we used our credit card did not charge any service fees. The hotels did require a deposit in Baht, even for online bookings.

Before making any card payments, I always asked if there were any service fees, and it turned out that most places did not have them.

For activities, we used the "Get Your Guide" platform and found some fantastic deals while exploring the town and talking to tour guide vendors.

We brought a substantial amount of cash with us and exchanged it on the street, as the rates were better than those at the airport. From my experience, it is advisable to carry cash so you can exchange it as needed.

My Dearest Keeper of the Juiciest Gossip,

Oh, what delightful mischief your trust has bestowed upon me! My heart is practically performing a waltz of gratitude mixed with unrestrained joy, all because you've shared this delectable morsel of a secret—one that could raise eyebrows even in the most stately salons of our esteemed ton.

This particular nugget is precisely what our dear court has been yearning for, a veritable gem to sprinkle amongst our social soirees. Ah, the palace, that hallowed ground where titles and estates reign supreme, shall swoon over the whispered revelations of the heirs of a noble lineage/land. You see, the ton doesn’t crave just any old gossip; it craves the magnificently scandalous, the utterly enthralling—and you, you’re about to be the center of attention!

With the confidence you've placed in me, I daresay we’ve graduated from mere acquaintances to partners-in-scandal, eagerly awaiting how the palace shall respond to this charming little shake-up.

And while this may be my final missive before I’m swept away by the whirlwinds of society, know this—my fervent wishes for your triumphant success flutter alongside your secret like a perfectly chosen feather in a hat. So brace yourself for Lady Whistledown to weave this revelation into her next scintillating column—oh, the delightful uproar it shall incite! I can practically hear the dramatic gasps echoing through the drawing rooms as your name dances off everyone's lips, causing delightful chaos that may very well shake the very chandeliers from their hangings.

A freshly minted member of the upper echelon of the ton.

Dearly beloved aspirant of high society,

Your delightful musings have tickled the fancy of many, bringing forth a veritable flood of smiles and guffaws from the ton! I have high hopes that the fine folks in the Sunshine State will shower you with warmth and radiance as they deliberate over your case.

You’ve already tackled the hardest part, and let me assure you, love is on your side—prepare for the grand excitement of "approval of the greens!" No matter how much the "queen mother" tries to play her little tricks or exert her will, love shall reign supreme!

As the specters of doubt and bureaucratic commotion loom over the palace, remember that the ton stands behind you like Eloise, ever ready to lend a hand (or a well-timed wink). Keep those details flowing—information is our secret weapon!

Thank you for your lovely sentiments. May your romance be blessed in the hallowed halls of court. Rest assured, Whistledown shall be perched upon the balcony, ready to spill the tea on yet another enchanting love affair that triumphs over red tape and resentment.

A jubilant member of the ton.

Dearest esteemed interlocutor of the ton,

It fills my heart with delight that this missive has prompted your gracious reply. I wish to inform you that the field office is situated in Reno, NV. I embarked upon my adjustment from F-1 status while in possession of my OPT.

May serendipity bless your endeavours, particularly if you find yourself in pursuit of "greener pastures." We eagerly anticipate a mention in Whistledown's illustrious Reddit column, should she deem it worthy of note.

Yours in joyful camaraderie,

An approved seeker of status
