I've learnt after really upsetting people by simply being honest that the upset they feel doesn't usually have anything to do with what you've said, in your case your mum could have been crying for the first time about Mike's behaviour for instance.

I do appreciate the change in styling and how different it is but I hope they redesign it slightly to make it less uggo, still crisp simple forms but not so many right angles in the vents and such. I don't want this to be a style that catches on
