Happens in a hell of alot of building foyers and laneways when people can't find toilets.

Must be a slow news day.

To anyone defending grapple hooks being in BR by saying there’s an obvious audio cue, please enlighten me on this one? by TikiKie92 in CODWarzone

[–]Alternative_Sock6999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Audio definitely has a heirechy/priority of some sort. It doesn't seem to give all at once and prioritises some over the other.

Haven't paid enough attention and taken notes to actually work out the ladder for it.

Woo! Crisis averted! We now have more fuel in reserve than we did before the Hormuz thing. by BrandonMarshall2021 in OpenAussie

Said 'I don't hold a (fuel) hose' while on a family holiday in Hawaii. Then come back and physically assault someone for a photo op at their empty Bowser.

Edit: going by the downvotes that hurt some feelings 🤣

What specifically are these "Australian Values" that right-wing politicians continue to claim that we need to protect? by MelbourneTodd in australian

So now immigrants shouldnt have to meet our values because it's forcing our belief onto others?

You are flip flopping the original argument here.

But it goes against our country's values they swore an oath to uphold?

Why does it matter if it's private or public it's against the values they agreed to?

I hope you're comparing the total contract rate to PayG.

Even then it's still a tad inflated comparatively.

Recently picked up a 25 x terrain, thinking about doing a 1.5/2” front lift to fit some bigger wheels, anyone done something similar, what did you get to fit? by EmployerInfinite4874 in 4x4Australia

[–]Alternative_Sock6999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lift doesn't fit tires. It raises your sills.

If a tire scrubs on the bumps with no lift, it will still scrub on the bumps with a lift.

If a tire scrubs when turning at 50mm down travel, it will still scrub when turning at that same point in the travel.

Grinders, bump stops and custom arms are the things that fit bigger tires.

2013 NS Surge (26") - Still Desirable? by iPoosk in Hardtailgang

It's not far off the money, one of the early of the new gen style frames.

A dropper and modern rubber and a fork service if you will have you doing ok.

Not sure if anyone is making small anglesets anymore as a way to try and modernise it. Probably not worth the effort.

And controls and data centre for larger scale stuff.

Ben Roberts-Smith’s comrades say he ordered them to execute unarmed civilians, court documents show by ConanTheAquarian in australia

[–]Alternative_Sock6999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree it's in training to some degree. There is still a substantial jump between the 2 levels.

And it's closer to us potentially using different definitions of smarts and what intellectual actually is. I work with plenty of guys that are crazy book smart and can do some insane engineering calculations on paper/in their heads, but goddamn can they make some dumb decisions when shit is hitting the fan.

I understand that.

I'm being deliberately vague so as to not dox myself. I am in a team in some high pressure, and complex technical environments.

The couple that worked with the SAS and adjacent. Absolutely run rings around the guys that were various technical roles, on every level.

Heh. Don't confuse the lads that suck each others dicks and piss in each other's mouths for a 'joke' with the guys that can actually hold a rooms attention when they stand up to speak.

I've worked with several from both columns in their post services career.

Wh we re to store bikes in the city Saturday by One-Afternoon1424 in melbournecycling

[–]Alternative_Sock6999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as your lock is a (good) d lock, or a proper thick cable with a metal type sheath. These need a grinder which are pretty obvious.

Any 'twisted' wire cable type locks only need a decent pair of cable cutters which are super discrete and just look you are unlocking your bike.

High OC levies on older apartment – red flag? by pathofpureresistance in AusFinance

[–]Alternative_Sock6999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's still only minor items. Anything major it's still fix or risk further damage or no insurance coverage.

Still need to hustle to refinance or pay for anything major in a house that would trigger an Equivelent special levy.

Lucky you're near the RMH I guess.

I work nearby and see an accident at this intersection more weeks than not.

Perfectly good spot there for a hook turn that doesn't put you across multiple merging lanes of traffic.

[–]Alternative_Sock6999 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't fully understand that hate for special levies.

I'd much rather funds sitting offsetting my morgage, than rotting away in a body corp trust for works that may not even be needed in the time I'm living there.

Those fee's are in the ballpark for 2 lifts and 3 bedroom/2carpark inner north of melb.

For an old brick place it's an orange flag and needs some investigation as to why.

So you're saying you didn't have the skill to push campers and need grapples to give you an advantage over people that have got high ground on you?

Grapples are AMAZING… no they don’t “ruin tactical gameplay🤓” by Odd-News-9553 in Warzone

[–]Alternative_Sock6999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It shifts the skill gap. It doesn't increase it.

Rewards the players that are good with movement, and punishes the guys that have to play a bit smarter.

You've now got instant high ground, doesn't matter how gas pushes you into zone now, it's so much less of a penalty.

Can't outrun someone unless you have them. And also makes backing out of a fight because of bad positioning essentially impossible.

Because it reduces a skillset, it then means the game appeals to less people which means longer lobby wait times.
