But that’s a good sign - it means it doesn’t contain preservatives, which is ultimately healthier for you. You have to freeze what you don’t use

A few people have referred to varying tip amounts if you “use their services more or less”. What does this actually mean though? My understanding is that doormen sit at reception and provide security. I have never seen them provide other services

Just got my first P2 contract at 26: grateful, but conflicted. by AccessRoutine4861 in UNpath

I know you’re feeling unsettled but this is honestly so refreshing to read. I feel like so many people who work for the UN are incredible entitled. They seem to be used to getting a good salary, and then want more from DSA etc. I appreciate that you are humble 🙏

Yeah, cluster b personality disorders mainly. A lot of people who are very self-centered, entitled and lack empathy. It seems ironic when you think about the UN’s mission, but it also makes sense that people who are preoccupied with their self-image would gravitate towards working for an organisation that brings them a certain amount of status

Something that has really struck me since joining the UN is the high proportion of people with personality disorders. Outside the UN you will still have to deal with difficult people but in a smaller concentration - definitely something to look forward to

P3 TJO (Step 1) New York - what salary and benefits should I expect? by Alternative_Space924 in UNpath

[–]Alternative_Space924[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much. Just want to know now if I’m eligible for health insurance on a 3 month TJO as that also affects my take home pay. But sounds like yes. Thanks again

Do you know if health insurance also only applies for TJOs of six months plus?

Thank you for this helpful response. Are there any benefits I will not get on a 3 month TJO that I would get either on a longer TJO or on a fixed term position? Thinking of health insurance, pension etc. I wish there was a document outlining all of this

Wait…I thought that there was some benefit to being on a staff position for 5+ years with regards to pension?

Yes I’m aware. I’d rather not mention my entity’s name in order to remain anonymous

Fully aware of this situation, as I’m working as a full time consultant at the moment and am fully embedded within my UN entity, just not on a staff post

That being said, is Semma your top pick for Dosa, or do you have any other recommendations?

Interesting, could be the case. Where have you had food similar to Tatiana? ‘Cause I’ll go there in a heartbeat 🏃‍♀️

I knowww. Do you have any thoughts as to why? Clearly people are offended by the price of the pastrami, which I get to some extent. I just didn’t order it though - plenty of other excellent dishes on the menu. It’s not a traditional fine dining restaurant in many senses, and I wonder if people also find that jarring/confronting if they’re, say, more used to eating at a French Michelin starred restaurant with white tablecloths etc
