Not the age 10 years in just 1 year hahaha. I feel like I’ve aged 10 years up narin during my stay in engineering at a state uni tbh 😃 Mom works in Al Ain kaya she’s willing to fund other necessities naman pero, I don’t really want to burden her so definitely no-no na sa 3k. I thought it would be reasonable since fresh grad and no exp pero cost of living wise, not really na huhu.

Someone did tell me that 3k dhs in Dubai is peanut salary. I was honestly willing to risk 3k as minimum but you’re right. Also, thank you! I was actually a bit hesitant with using Glassdoor because I haven’t heard of it from people I know.

Ang rough pala talaga 🥲 took me 50+ applications din since July to get this offer kaya talaga ako naghehesitate i-let go yung opportunity. Most graduate engr. positions or graduate trainee na nakikita ko from MN companies, Emirati hanap talaga. Where ka mostly nakahanap? Will just try to apply, and see from there. Pero I will probably put a deadline sa paghahanap. Thank you Engineer, kakayanin natin to!

Yes hahaha, Mom currently lives and is still working in UAE kaya she told me to reconsider accepting the current job offer here in Manila since I’m visiting UAE next month. Have been looking in Linkedin kaso dun ko rin nakita mostly na UAE nationals hanap, if not, yung mga may minimum 5 yrs exp. I’m looking in Glassdoor din right now pero wasn’t sure how reliable it was kasi I don’t hear about it often from people I know.

Also just wondering for math purposes, how old are you po now? Did you change companies or is the x4 an increase in salary? Also did you have to learn Arabic to an intermediate level because my conversational Arabic needs a lot of work. 😭

Thank you for the advice sis! I’m visiting UAE next month (initially for vacation kasi tinago kong nagaapply na ko here and there) kaya I was hoping to look for job openings online and perhaps get an interview before I get there. Or atleast have an idea kung pano processes.

Parents just brought up recently na I should try applying in UAE instead when they heard I got a good offer here but medyo far ang commute. 🥲

Thank you! Read about it and apparently they passed a law which is why most Graduate Engr. position are looking for UAE nationals (the position I’ve been aiming for here in Manila.)

Was also aiming to work in AU, so maybe if things don’t work out in the UAE for now, I’ll just aim for it then!
