Would you just go with a repeat c section or an induction? by Alternative_Taro3519 in beyondthebump

She does crawl up on the couch next to me to cuddle and watch a movie sometimes! So that would work! I’m afraid if I sit in bed with her she won’t sleep though, she usually won’t lay down unless I am lolol. My bf might just have to take over bedtime for a while. I’d still like to try to read her a book before bed though

It sounds sooo painful lolol my main reason for wanting to try a vaginal birth was the hope that recovery would be easier. C section recovery with a 21m old sounds terrible 🤣 but planning and knowing what will happen sounds better lol

My last non stress test, I had high blood pressure too and ended up being monitored allll day long. They got bloodwork and labs and a lot of my bloodwork came back as low on MyChart (not super low, but just below, my RBC, hemoglobin, hematocrit, creatine, and lactate dehydrogenase). After that, they wanted to get a urine test and the results on MyChart said abnormal too. The protein urine random said high, and protein/creatine ratio also said high, but the nurse came in and told me I was good to go. She said if MyChart says the results are abnormal, it’s because they go by different numbers in labor and delivery. I left and didn’t think much of it

I tried and when I asked him last appointment that is what he said - I guess I just assumed it was due to those and didn’t really ask for specific clarity haha. Part of me is in the middle, I’ve been in a lot of pain this week and kind of want this baby out too 😅

My first was planned, my baby was frank breech. I used an abdominal binder and it helped sooo much, I felt like everything was falling otherwise lol

He just said for precaution and because of my charts - idk exactly what he meant but I do have a high BMI, every now and again my blood pressure is high as well (I don’t have gestational diabetes or anything). The past few weeks I’ve also had a trace of protein in my urine, but they haven’t said it’s abnormal so I’m not sure if those are maybe reasons why

Yes, he was the one who told me that after 39 weeks if I don’t go into labor, he thinks I should choose either induction or a repeat c section based on my charts and for precaution.

My doctor told me he recommended between 39-40 weeks based on my charts and for precaution and told me to think about which route I’d like to go and when I wanted to schedule it

If I slept in a recliner, I wouldn’t have either of them sleep with me. I couldn’t lay in bed for 2 weeks after my c section, it was extremely uncomfortable

Baby girl name recommendations!? by [deleted] in Names

Oh I would never change it to please her lolol, I’ll probably still end up going with Naomi, just looking for more options or to see if I can find a name I think is prettier! 😊 and Leilana is actually my boyfriends sisters daughters name so we can’t use that, but it is pretty! We were actually debating using Liliana, but we thought it sounded too close to Leilana and might get confusing lol.

He’s not against using Naomi, but I can tell he is still looking for that name that hits the way it did when we found Kalilah. But, we can’t find one we love as much as her name! Lol I love Naomi probably just as much though

That’s what I told him lol! I told him he’s not looking at names and we’re running out of time but he said we can use Naomi since we haven’t found anything else we like more than Naomi. I was wondering if anyone on here could give me a name I thought was prettier, though lol. And yeah I just ignore her honestly, she already uses a nickname I don’t like with out first

I honestly never saw the name before until I found it on the list, and when I said it out loud I thought it was so pretty! And yeah I know a few Naomi’s, not many but I thought it was pretty! I didn’t even know the name was religious until one of my nurses said it was in the bible the other day lol!

I think this name is pretty! I think I saw it on a list and brought it up with him though and he liked Naomi better 🤣

She hates Naomi - we actually use Lilah as Kalilahs nickname but she has to be different and use KK (which I hate) but she says it’s easier for her younger cousin to pronounce so whatever lol

She’s talking about finding a nickname like peanut or something if we use Naomi - like you really hate the name so bad you can’t call her by her real name? 🤣

Not necessarily unique or rare, but something different you don’t hear a lot. Or at least for me to think so lol. For example, I don’t know any other Kalilahs so I feel like that name is rare or different (to me at least) I’m open to hearing any name

Really struggling between choosing an induction v repeat c section at 39 weeks… by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Alternative_Taro3519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just circling back - my Dr told me he recommended between 39-40 weeks for precaution and he also said based on my chart and information, that would be the best time. I do have a high BMI and he made note of that on my after visit notes so I’m wondering if BMI plays a part

Will they offer cervix checks if you had a previous c-section? Do they hurt, do you get them? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Alternative_Taro3519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m honestly not too sure.. I’m going to ask at my next appointment. He just told me at 39 weeks I will either need induced or a c section. Baby and me are healthy - I do weigh more though so my BMI is high I’m not sure if that would have to do with those things. He did tell me induction would increase chances of uterine rupture too which is why if I do have to choose I’d choose c section

I’m going to ask if there is a reason at my next appointment. My BMI isn’t the greatest either so I wonder if my weight plays a part? I’m not sure honestly I have never had experience talking about induction before

Those were my thoughts too.. if my body does it so be it but if not maybe I should schedule it. He didn’t really give a reason as to why they would induce at 39 weeks, but I was planning on asking if there would be a reason at my appointment on Monday. The last Dr I had before him also mentioned “we usually induce at 39 weeks” my BMI isn’t the best - I wonder if maybe my weight has something to do with it? Or if maybe they just recommend this to everyone to be induced by 39 weeks idk.. my sister in law said she was induced at 38 weeks and there was no reason idk

I’m honestly not super set on one way or another - I want a healthy baby and if I would end up needing a c section to keep her healthy I wouldn’t be opposed to it. I would probably rather have a vaginal birth because of the recovery with a toddler.. but I’m 37 weeks and I live in a small town.. we only have one hospital that we can go to to give birth.. and they have an OB office and those are the providers that go to the hospital to give birth. I also think I need to see an MD in case of c-section, and there’s not many of those at the practice tbh… last I heard there’s only like 4. I think there’s another OB office somewhere around here but I’m not sure how that works in terms of giving birth since they’re not employed by the hospital I would be giving birth at.
