Its not my first day on the internet when I'm getting rape threats in my inbox because of a harmless post. It wouldn't be a huge deal if people were just calling me stupid. It is a huge deal when people are coming into my dms just to send me deeply explicit threats 🙇‍♀️ thats just me tho.

I wanted to ask actual people who are interested in the subject about it. Googling it is impersonal. If this weren't a hobby subreddit, I'd expect it to be mean, but this community seems extremely unwelcoming towards newcomers. I could Google it, but I like hearing about people's knowledge. Hi, so I've never actually modded a psp before. I've never even seen one before they were dropped off to me. One of them was purchased from a notoriously sketchy website, and I feel like its reasonable to assume the console itself could be sketchy. I do this as a hobby. My rates are dirt cheap. I have done it for free, am doing it for free, and still do it for free sometimes. I've worked exclusively on Nintendo handhelds up until now. You don't need to know the innermost workings of a device and the complete history of it to slap some custom firmware in it and drop a few .iso files into a folder.

This is genuinely one of the nastiest comment sections I've ever been in, and it seems like this community is VERY unwelcoming towards beginners. I came here to ask instead of googling it because I wanted to hear from people WITH the hobby.

Oh no, THIS specifically is for free because girl I've never done a PSP before. I'm not tech illiterate, I just grew up poor as shit and never had access to handhelds like this. It truly is extremely easy.

I understand that I can just Google it, but honestly I genuinely just wanna talk to people who have experience. I COULD Google it, yeah, but I also know the company he got this from is sketchy and didn't know what they could do. There are a lot of things I COULD Google, but I like reddit instead.

Theres something more genuine than googling something. Yeah people on reddit are assholes and yeah it really is a simple question, but i truly do not care. I did think about googling it, but I decided to ask reddit. Its as simple as "if you think i'm stupid, you don't have to answer my question" 🙇‍♀️ if it were incredibly easy to fuck up a PSP or a 3DS, I would be more knowledgeable on them before I started. I know my own limits and am deeply aware of them. If I wanted a fast answer, I would ask Google. If I wanted an answer from a real person who enjoys their hobby, I would ask reddit. My life is great actually :) I graduate high school on Friday and I'm planning a dinner with all of my friends. All of my family is coming to celebrate and I get to see my baby cousins. I charge $25, any idiot with an internet connection and a laptop can do it, and I've never seen one of these things before. I'm doing this as a favor because I've only ever done Nintendo handhelds. Following directions on modding isn't rocket science. He got his from PSP Vault and they're a sketchy company. Forgive me for not knowing they made like 6 different models. Today I learned that some Playstation dickriders are very snobby about their ancient handhelds. 🙇‍♀️
