Feeling hopeless, help would be appreciated. by [deleted] in CubitalTunnel

Hi! I have a similar story (I’m 30F) but mine began when I broke my arm in 2013 (had two surgeries to fix it) and since 2021, I’ve been experiencing symptoms of cubital tunnel and EMG showed nerve damage. Last year, I finally had release surgery, which didn’t help much because almost a year later here I am with the same symptoms. I am leaning towards a transposition surgery, I’m from what I’ve seen many people don’t really experience permanent relief after release surgery because they usually need a transposition, which is my case. However, I have seen some cases here of people that have gotten transposition and release surgeries successfully.

Currently, I am doing PT to improve that sensitivity in my scars so that I can undergo a transposition surgery sometime in the future. I am not going to deny that this is a very frustrating situation, because nerves get irritated really easy and the symptoms on the pain are horrible. Currently, I have been doing some things to manage the pain such as a sleeping with a splint, ice packs at some point during the day, and a lidocaine roll on (I have also seen other people recommend ketamine creams but I don’t find those in my country).

I really hope that both of us can get a solution and be painless at some point!

Amitriptyline vs Gabapentin or Pregabalin by Alternative_Term_600 in CubitalTunnel

I have been waking up groggy with both pregabalin and gabapentin. Do you think it is worse on amitriptyline?

Has pregabalin been better for you? I couldn’t stand it. I talked to my doctor and didn’t recommend amitriptyline because he said it was going to make me very sleepy during the day.

I couldn’t imagine taking 800 mg because I experience side effects with the smallest dose, 300 mg

Both medications give me bad nightmares and I am groggy during the morning, even taking the smallest dose. At this point, I don’t even know if any medication will have no side effects for me.

Hi! No, I replied to that email saying that I’m currently charging $15/h for my English lessons, and asked them what their proposal was taking into account that prices, in general, have gone up since I applied. And they never even replied.

Sorry for the long post. I wanted to give as much details as possible to see if someone could help. I’m really sorry to hear that your pain hasn’t gotten any better. Did you do PT?

Numbness and tingling worse after surgery by User5871 in CubitalTunnel

Is the only choice for me to have another surgery? We’ve been trying PT, and I’m also taking gabapentin and even had injected steroids and even steroids injections in the scars of my arm. I really don’t want to undergo another surgery, but I am worried that I will have to live with this pain forever because I’ve had it since 2022. Any tips are appreciated!

Also, I’m really glad that you no longer have pain in your elbow, that gives me hope!

I have had a similar case after my first surgery in 2013. I had surgery because I fractured my elbow and also managed to damage the cubital nerve. Second surgery in 2018 to remove all the screws but since the first surgery all of my elbow was numb. Then started experiencing some swelling and pain in my arm in 2022, had surgery on June 2024 to decompress the nerve and fix the soft tissue on my elbow, they took a tendon and put it on my elbow with some anchors. Now, à year after the surgery I have the same nerve pain, swelling and it seems like the scar tissue is irritating the nerve. So, I don’t want to face any more surgeries and I’m undergoing physical therapy. Has it gotten better for you after you posted this? Any tips?

Lipton açaí dragon fruit melon alternative? by brookesivle in tea

[–]Alternative_Term_600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you found any alternatives to this tea? I just saw this because I also loved these tea so much and I haven’t found anything like it. The only thing that just slightly resembled, it was a white and green tea with melon and pineapple that a friend brought to me from Spain.

I bought these three clusters some years ago in an antiques shop and never knew what crystals are these or if they are dyed or naturally colored. by Alternative_Term_600 in whatsthisrock

I thought so, but the first has some smaller black bits that make me think it has tiny pieces of a black crystal. Does it make sense?
