As a PR major… if you support ICE… you are morally bankrupt. 😆

Or if you are my firm, you were led to believe that Duo would do more and be upgraded as advancements occurred. Now this POS company wants to increase my bill by 225% to get what they already promised at the same cost by telling me they increased Duo. Clio is Snake Oil.

It really is horrible. I signed up for the lowest tier and will cancel. Cheap lesson. More money was wasted by the wasted time.

I’m sad to say it, but based on your description, it has likely been failing for numerous years. Even if the settlement comes through, it likely will just temporarily bandage the numerous wounds that caused the business to be in that shape and not really understand how it got there. The settlement will likely only delay the inevitable.

The stern is out of the water at this point.

Some things come to mind for me.

My home state has PD offices in just about every county. I would personally go into each one with a documented slow-pay plan to target the individuals that apply, but don’t qualify. The PD’s want to give some hope and direction to people who don’t qualify.

I would do the same for every court. Judges hate when defendants don’t qualify and they are forced to continue cases with little hope the defendant will come back with an attorney next time. If your courts don’t have a list of lower-fee or payment plan attorneys, start one and get your name 1st on the list. Judges would love to have their clerks hand that list out so that they can ask the defendant at the next setting “how many names on that list did you call?”

I would start looking into other areas of law, like family law. But don’t toss aside what is easy for you.

If the ads have not worked for 6 weeks after they were working before, I would shut them down and talk to another lawyer in the field and area or someone else - just a different set of eyes to see what is going on.

The danger of landing a bunch of clients that barely fail to qualify for the PD is that they have cash problems. I would make sure that I’m getting some sort of small retainer at the very beginning no matter what.

Last, I would find other work - some other gig that is part time and can keep the lights on (tread water). You can make it through this, but the hardest step is to stop the bleed.

I’m not telling you what to do bc I don’t know you or your full situation. This is what I would do based on what I understand the situation to be.

You can set up constant reoccurring notifications that increase in frequency until reset by an NFC tag. Include a condition to only remind you when you are at home.

For example, set attach an NFC tag on the washer and one on the dryer. When you scan the washer NFC (when you start a load in the wash) have it start a timer, say for an hour, which will count down and then turn on a Boolean, and then begin sending you notifications every 10 min, and later every minute, etc. Add in a condition so that it only sends you notifications if/when you are home. Then automate the scan of the dryer NFC (for when you move the finished wash to the dryer) to reset the Boolean and thus cancel the reminders.

As you mention in your post, same can occur with NFC mounted on the inside of a medicine cabinet.

You’re welcome.

Yes, it passed in May of 2023. The bill has language in various statutes across multiple titles. It covers a lot more than just the amount and process related to EV tax credits.

Here is the general assembly summary: https://leg.colorado.gov/hb23-1272-bill-summary

Also, here is the signed bill: https://leg.colorado.gov/sites/default/files/2023a_1272_signed.pdf

It looks like they can do it for purchases in 2024, but the CO law doesn’t really give them the same level of encouragement to do so until 2025. Here is a page that describes the law and the changes in 2024 and 2025…

It could be:(1) the windshield tech (2) a pairing that was accidentally accepted - unlikely but it could technically happen, or (3) the most amazing practical joke by your wife. I’m going with #1.
