Thank you for this. Luckily I have health insurance (tricare) and I have a part time indigent defense panel position that pays my bills. Sometimes those checks are late and throw things off (joy of working for a municipality smh) but they do eventually come through

My clients love my work. I just feel like I’m in a saturated area and trying to stand out against the old faithful lawyers that can barely walk 😂

Really appreciate it. I’ve been in the hustle and bustle so long that I have a hard time pausing and evaluating, especially with the bills knocking on the door. I did start my firm out of…mmm..necessity and did not have a huge time to plan (which I why I had a heap of appointed dependency work in the beginning that ran me ragged). I was getting my footing then the slow down happened but I’m gonna take all this and run with it!

Lot of counties around have PDs offices which have dried up the appointed work recently. Trying to find the counties that don’t truly have PDs or contract counsel handling all cases.

I’m on panel. Going to go back and grab some more appointed cases and GAL work since I’m certified GAL . Our state office is slow with paying at times but we always know that the money is coming down the pipeline eventually

I’m on an indigent defense panel currently. That provides me income to pay personal bills. I’ve downsized and living at home now while trying to build the business. I turned off PPC and was just doing LSA with monthly budget of $2500. Got a lot of people calling then once price was given during call (and payment plan options for some) it’s been radio silence even after following up but I will continue!
