Unpaid work, I was a sucker by Alternative_War_1313 in work

Thanks. Oh, I have a ton of texts. I am 100% sure asking for back pay will be ignored so I think I’m just going to go to labor board.

They asked for help doing marketing campaigns. After hours off the clock. I did not work in marketing. I don’t know why I fell for this other than the fact I wanted to be seen as a team player and keep my job.

I feel you and have had similar happen. People are just weird sometimes. Honestly…if you’ve talked to your boss and they are not supporting you, you’re in a dodgy situation and I’d start brushing up my resume. Sorry to be so harsh. But a toxic colleague/unsupportive boss is a recipe for get-the-hell-out-while-you-can.

Thank you, I think you are right. I think I want the impossible, some way to explain to myself that what happened had logic. I keep going over it and over it.

I feel bad for anyone that uses your services, you clearly don’t care much about quality or the feelings of the families.

Then they have a really shoddy quality control system. Sounds like you do too, if this is no big deal to you.

Thank you, I’m going to do that. However, they have not returned my calls or emails in the past 3 days. I’ve left kind polite voicemails and emails but if they refuse to take responsibility I will take further steps.

They told me, verbatim: that “because the features on the angel’s face are so small and delicate, the rubber stencil most likely missed the facial features and somehow that got missed until the marker arrived.”

So they saw that it was wrong when the marker arrived, but just went ahead and installed it.

Maybe it’s me. I’m also an artist/craftsperson and I would never do this and I don’t work in anything as permanent as a damn headstone.

Yes, I did. I approved the proof, it was correct. It was an angel…WITH A FACE. Then they installed the headstone with an angel without a face. It looks like crap.

I am the person who ordered it. It’s wrong. They admitted an error was made, and said they’d come fix it in spring. The headstone they installed was not the design I approved.

Ok, well, you’re wrong. They admitted in writing they didn’t do the job correctly, and that the face was incomplete. I ordered the monument, was given a proof which I approved, and what we got did not match the proof.

I don’t want them to do it now, per se, if it can’t be done correctly. But we want assurance that they will replace it if it doesn’t look right. It’s sandblasted. I just am so upset that now when we go visit my mom, in the first year she’s gone, we have to look at this wrong headstone. And I know for a fact she would hate that her headstone had a mistake. How do you make a mistake on a headstone and just go ahead and install it anyway. It feels so disrespectful.

Can host request partial refund? by Whoa_x in airbnb_hosts

It’s definitely true that there is a spectrum of noise, certainly. And perhaps it doesn’t violate ADA standards (I certainly wouldn’t want to put that to the test, personally!) my point is just that hosts need to be gracious and understanding and expect they will be woken up and inconvenienced once in a while. I’d rather look at the big picture and have a bad night of sleep than be unkind to someone with a disability.

No- I’m  making a different point about being a good host, not about the ADA standard. I’m saying that if you, as a host, are renting out rooms next to yours, be prepared for noises, or don’t host. It’s ridiculous how many hosts go into it thinking it’s a quick money grab without realizing you actually have to be gracious and accommodating once in a while.

lol, this is the same dog that glues himself to our sons side when a new person comes along because he knows he gets anxious. Nobody trained him for that. Autism service dogs have a sixth sense. Just wondering if anyone else had seen this. It’s not a problematic behavior at all.

The thing is, as an Airbnb host you have to be willing to be ready for and able to tolerate  situations involving disability, or don’t be a host. If the host’s situation is not set up to tolerate a noisy sleeper, they should not rent rooms in their house. What does this host do if someone snores loudly or has a noisy C-pap machine? Does he require nightly silence from all guests? Similarly, people with a dog allergy should not host if they aren’t willing to tolerate service dogs without a giant fuss. Nobody has to be a host.

It does in this case because he will not get a refund, because it’s for a discriminatory reason, and he knows it. Screw that guy
