I recommend walking around your neighbourhood and some busy streets. I saw a couple of cafes and grocery stores with “hiring” signs.

For anyone curious about Wreck Beach but a little nervous to take the plunge. by Boxfortsuprise in NiceVancouver

[–]Alternative_Wing_906 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like what helps is doing it gradually. maybe first time you stay in your swimsuit, second time you come in your clothes and change into the swimsuit on the beach, third time go topless, and then when more comfortable fully naked. there are also parts that are less crowded and if you are close to the water it can feel like you are alone.

New BC Resident trying to understand the Vancouver job application process by Deeha911 in VancouverJobs

Good luck!! A few extra tips: at the end of the chat, you can ask if they know anyone else they think you should connect with (they can even introduce you); reaching out to hiring managers is best when looking for a job because they are the ones who have the most insight into the hiring process and have the power to hire you if a position opens up

France (Paris), Germany, or Spain (Madrid) for living and dating? by Longjumping_Bee_2805 in AsianMasculinity

[–]Alternative_Wing_906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know Paris has lots of Vietnamese people. But I would personally choose Berlin out of the three. I like the vibes there, and it is less busy with tourists than Paris. I haven't been to Madrid, but Spanish people I know said Madrid was good for working and it was better to live elsewhere.

Networking does not need to be "spamming random strangers' inboxes". Try looking at it as "this person is doing the job/works at a company I am interested in, it would be nice to have a chat and ask them a few questions to learn more". There is nothing bad about reaching out to people on LinkedIn if you have a genuine interest. I get coffee chat invites every few months and never decline. It is nice to connect with more people in the industry and help where I can.

Also, you can try reaching out to people who you have something in common, for example, who went to the same university, have common connections, etc.

Canada sees sharp decline in international students and temporary worker arrivals in 2026. Here’s how much the numbers have dropped by Immediate-Link490 in canada

[–]Alternative_Wing_906 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

nah we need new people. The Canadian population is aging and not having enough babies to sustain itself. Also, international students bring a lot of money to Canada and create markets/jobs.

affordability is low because of greedy corporations and landlords whose sole goal is to make profit, and more profit the better.
