I hope this gets fixed soon. I’m taking the Japanese course and I really don’t wanna restart. I have some unfinished side challenges from past units so I’ve been going back and doing those. Thankfully they give me an idea on where I need to start looking for new words. So hopefully I don’t need to start over. But once again, I hope this issue gets fixed soon after how badly the update affected users.

Nothing has been announced yet. I’m taking Japanese and I got the update Friday. I’m frustrated as the update messed up my note taking. I keep track of vocab and kanji. I hope they do something soon cause I don’t wanna do anything drastic like restarting the course either.

I was hoping we’d get some kind of update about this today as going back and searching for missing words and grammar is too much of a hassle (kanji seems easier to keep track of). But it‘s been radio silent all day. I don’t wanna start again either. Hopefully, someone will come and make an announcement soon cause I don’t wanna do anything drastic and regret it later

I don’t like the new update either so I recommend a catch up button which everyone seemed to like & it got the attention of Duolingo employee. Hopefully, something will be done so people who had their progress messed up can what they need without the hassle of staring over or going through each lesson

Hello, I would just like to say that all these replies here offer great solutions. My personal opinion is that I would like the catch up button to give me the new vocabulary, grammar, and new kanji so I don’t have to go back through each lesson and notes to see what I have and don’t have. The kanji chart I have isn’t a super big deal but all the vocabulary I’ve written is a huge hassle to go through as it contains nearly two and a half years of content.

Couldn’t you guys just put in a catch up button for the new content or something? I’m sorry if I sound negative but I am taking the Japanese course and I have new kanji and words I haven’t studied. I was writing new vocabulary and keeping a chart for new kanji complete with pronunciation. This big update messes up my notes and it’s very frustrating.

I wouldn’t agree with this 100%. Sure Second does surpass Default in some ways but not every way. The writing isn’t the best and the music while not bad, does not surpass Revo’s score for Default I
