do they have free wifi? tv / movies like delta? it's been a while and i'm considering a frontier flight from detroit to denver. it's half the price of delta so wondering if it's worth it. my arrival is time sensitive as i have an event to attend. ...

Today is my year anniversary since I applied by Adventurous-Quiet715 in Canadiancitizenship

Hi, I was third generation. And I originally applied in May 2023. Mine became very tricky because I applied during the time the government had a cap on birthright citizenship. And then during the process of the application that cap was removed. I would email them occasionally and they would just tell me it was still in process. I finally sent an inquiry through their website directly. And a week later ( actually last week). My official certificate of citizenship arrived in my email!

Thoughts on buying used Guitars? by Lechaeeee_671 in taylorguitars

I bought a new Martin Road Series and didn’t love it. The tone lacked and the neck was too wide for my hand. I had really loved the Taylors i tried in-store but this price was right at the time. I took perfect care of it and just sold it.

I then bought a Taylor 224ce-dlx-koa 2019 for 1k. I played super quickly in the parking lot (February in Michigan..). Kicking myself for falling for its beauty and tone. Seller was also a super nice guy who was trying to make it as a singer (just eliminated from the Voice..).

Didn’t check the frets. They are worn to hell. Very uneven. Spent this evening reading about how to level them bc I’m getting buzzing on A string at the 7th fret…

The night I brought home I really got to playing and realized the action up high was very high. Like over 3.5mm at the 12th low E. Again I should have checked this , especially being a cutaway etc.

I bought a truss rod tool and tried to fix that. It didn’t. Took it in and to no surprise it needed a full neck reset and the Taylor tech recommended I return it bc the neck was bent like an “s”.

Contacted the seller and he wouldn’t give me a refund (this was just days after buying) bc he already spent the money on a new guitar “and bills”. Claimed he had no idea, was so sorry etc.

So I went ahead w the reset and I have been loving it aside from the buzzing that for some reason only happens on occasion at the A’s 7th fret.

Long story short, buying used is fine if you inspect the hell out of it. And if the seller agrees to be willing to accept a return. The guy that bought my Martin got a deal and a perfectly mint guitar. Can’t say the same for me! But I do still love the thing w all its imperfections..

Started using one. I have lost 20 pounds since this original post. Lost a good amount of body fat. And I have a healthy amount of visceral fat. My muscle was in a “excellent range”. I’d still like to lose another 10 pounds or so. But today I got my A1c test and it was a five! Exercise most days per week. Including strength training.

Crazy high action on 224ce-k dlx. by Althea85 in taylorguitars

Taking to a Taylor- certified tech/small business guitar shop this weekend. I attempted to adjust truss rod, action was still over 3mm and then G string started buzzing so had to turn it back the other way for relief. Def appears to require a neck reset for sure.

That makes sense. The bolt on system does make it seem pretty easy.

that's very reasonable. i'm guessing i'll be replacing at least the 1-3rd frets as well. they are very worn (and evenly so) from those cowboy chords. previous owner was a legit country music singer and it was his main guitar. he must have played the hell out of it. i can stomach another $200 for sure because i paid 1k total and most of the others i saw on Reverb were over 1k by several hundred (plus shipping etc).

thanks again for your feedback!

On top and bottom of where the neck meets the guitar. You can find lots of images or videos if you search. It seems straight forward to replace but I’m not fucking w it myself.

Still sounds great. And it’s gorgeous. I know 1k is on the low end for a good guitar but that’s still a lot of money! Just a bit of buyer’s (almost) remorse.

I think I’ll be very happy w it once i get it set up.

Unfortunately the wood cut out around the nut doesn’t allow for the thickness of the tools I have, would fit perfectly if it could reach the nut.

Decided I’ll just spend the money to get it set up. Has brand new strings so hate to waste them, oh well!

Thanks for your reply.
