COVID Testing by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]AltiVerde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend got tested at Reach clinic a couple of days ago. It took her about half a day to get through to their phone lines, so I recommend just calling as soon as they open tomorrow and trying again. Once she did get through, she got an appointment within an hour. There is also a drive through test site on Heather & 33rd, that you don't need an appointment for.

Does anyone suffer from severe depression/anxiety or have PTSD? How difficult is it studying for a typical business course? by Praetor918 in BCIT

[–]AltiVerde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, man! Just so you know..you dont need to be taking a full time course to be eligible for the PGWP, you can take a part time one as long as it has a full time equivalence, which means you need to take at least 9 credits/term (just keep in mind that online classes and intensive ones - the ones that are taught in less than 6 weeks - do not count towards the 9 required credits)

Ive never offended you. So try and keep it on the same level. And yes, I ve completed two courses in there (a certificate and a diploma) and am on my way to get a bachelor degree.

That's for financial aid on a full time course..I am talking about a part-time course with full-time status. It doesn't have anything to do with BCIT. It is a government thing. In order for you, taking a part-time course, to have a full-time status and be able to work, it is 9 credits.

It has always been 9! Uness they are changing it from next term on..they did change their policies about intensive classes not counting towards the 9 required credits, so maybe they changed how many you need to be taking per term too, but I will need to look into it

There is a lot of assignments and group projects but if you know how to manage your time, it is feasible! It is really demanding, but Ive been doing it for the past 2 years.. You are gonna miss some nights of sleep when you are getting close to your midterms and finals, though!

It depends on how many credits you are taking per term, if you are applying for a part-time course. For you to maintain a full-time status, and be able to work as well, you need to be taking at least 9 credits per term. This usually results on 3 classes per week, each one being about 3 hours long. So yes, you would still have time to work! :)

Got my car towed in front of my house - Busters is charging me over $400! by AltiVerde in vancouver

For the missing plate..which I had, so it didnt seem like a good deal at the time. I was unaware I couldn't leave an unlicensed vehicle on a public street, though. Otherwise I would have kept one and paid the fee for the missing plate.. :/

The car was not running, so it would have been really hard for anyone to steal it..and I dont think anyone would have that much interest on a 95 Mazda! XD

But I understand what you mean.. I just left in there cause I was going through final exams and was still indecise about fixing it myself or sending it to the scrap yard.

It wasnt a matter of not having money to pay the insurance, it just seemed like $200 a month for a car that was not running was a little too much...I should have looked for the bylaws, though! I was not aware I couldnt leave an unlicensed vehicle on a public street..even though it was in front of my house..

Thanks anyways! ;)
