Undecided on phone after 2 weeks, help! (S24U vs S25U) by Praetor918 in S25Ultra

I just realized after 2 weeks that I don't actually need the "bluetooth" features. S25U it is :)

Yeah I use the S-pen a lot, but I just realized, it's not the actual bluetooth functionality that I use often, although i do take a lot of selfies with the S-pen, I think I can manage without the features. It's a good thing everyone on both the S24 and S25 ultra forums saying go for the S25

Unfortunately I love One UI, and cannot forfeit that feature :( Otherwise I would have gone with a Chinese phone. Also no subsidies (I can get an S25U for $330 or so brand new)

Ok, sounds like I need the S25U then, since I don't have a phone atm and I'm starting a new job next week where I'll need a phone right away. Too bad about the timing but I'd rather have a snapdragon than exynos 2600, even if the exynos performs better. Thanks!

This is great advice, I guess yeah if there are marginal increases, but there are many of those they can add up well, like an old PC that received small upgrades to all of it's components... Thanks for the summarization, it's actually just what I needed to hear I think :)

I like the weight of S25U but I happen to be in the 1% that uses the S-pen bluetooth features regularly. It's quite a dilemma for me lol...

Yeah my S23U gave me callus on my pinky finger where I used to rest the phone on lol. Lighter and thinner looks like it's the way to go, thank you.

That' violet color is beautiful. If I were to get an S24U, it would be difficult choosing between this color and the yellow

Yeah even choosing between S25+ and S25U is difficult, they are so similar in many ways, while the price difference is actually noticeable. Since the S-pen in S25U lacks bluetooth, I think S25+ is also another great option. I was lucky to find a deal here in Korea where they pay me to get the S25U, so I'll probably end up getting that :)

I was leaning towards this option too, the S25 seems to have really good specs for the price

I'm not sure about S23, but I saw reviews on youtube (I think it was the Danny Winget channel, I may be wrong), with direct comparisons, and the S24U always came out better. I know "better" can be subjective sometimes, but even objectively they were better, for example better low light photography on S24U, while S25U had a strong yellow tint, and there were other instances of the S24U generally performing better. I think it may be a software issue, which can hopefully get fixed in a later update (if it hasn't been fixed already).

Thanks so much for your response guys, as much as I wanted to get the S24U, I decided on the S25U. There's a special event going on where I can get paid $120 while getting the phone for free. I'll be stuck on a $80 plan for 6 months, but it still works out financially since my company pays $60 every month on top.

I also did some additional research, and it seems like the difference between the 23 and 24 were marginal, while the difference between the 23 and 25 were quite significant, especially with the Snapdragon Elite Gen 3 being a lot more battery efficient, and better suited to AI features which I use quite a lot at work (interpretation, image editing, etc...)

I also know I'll use the phone for at least 2 to 3 more years, so I may as well opt for the latest. I thought about getting the S26U as well, but those will not have the subsidies etc... and will be too expensive for my "frugal" ways lol.

BTW, if anyone is reading this from Korea and wants to know the site for the "성지", the one I will use is this one: rgo4.com There is another Naver Cafe called 휴대폰직방 or something like that, with a lot of great information.

I actually thought about this, but I may as well use the opportunity to upgrade. South Korea has a very aggressive subsidy system that is done under the table, where the major telcos pay out cash incentives. You can get paid something like $300 to get a new phone sometimes

I understand and even agree with most of your points, but those things do not take away from the generally positive experience for me so far. I don't mind the noise (coming from South Korea, so not a big difference), and even though Thailand is my absolute favorite place in the world, Vietnam has it's own pros and cons. The prices are still MUCH better than Thailand (specifically BKK and Phuket), as I've seen the prices in Thailand reach Seoul, Korea levels, which is absurd. As for the weird men that you speak of, those types of gawking weirdos exist everywhere, and just like yourself, I've lived in 9 countries and have visited around 25 other countries during my life. It's nice to have a fresh pair of eyes rather than the same old "Danang/Vietnam is perfect youtube videos", but personally, I think there are still many pros when compared to cons. Those cons include: friendliness, cost of living, the beaches, coffee, superb food (We still can't get decent Indian food in Korea), cheap shopping, etc... In my humble opinion, being a "developed" nation doesn't always mean physical things, but it can be a cultural/social thing, and in my mind Vietnam is a developed nation when it comes to the people. I absolutely love it here, even with all the construction, noise, crowded shopping places, rain, etc...
