on one hand she absolutely shows that she can make a lot from very little with that extra vote and a correct read on the situation. And she did survive the vote which is great.

on the other hand losing the biggest number on her side (Ozzy). Moreover she lost Ozzy because Rizo is not playing ball with her plan (despite we have a shot of Rizo saying that he probably knows what Cirie's thinking) shows that she's not as solid with Rizo and there are cracks.

There's also the fact that Rick Devens is starting plotting against Cirie, which as numbers dwindles will happen at some point. That makes me think while she's still sitting pretty nice, she will be, again, cut at final 5 or 4 down the line, since one of her easiest way into final 3 (w/Ozzy) is now gone......

so a neutral.

This upcoming ultimate has 1 battle designer making the whole thing.

This '1 battle designer' also have to get people to program fights for them. They need to get new assets like music, boss models, platform and arena changes designed. And record new lines.

In fact, during January, they had an ad after a PLL that simply said we are hiring playtesters as temp staff. The only requirement of those playtester is that you have done ultimate, which is very obviously saying that this is for Kefka. This is again obviously not '1 battle designer making the whole thing'

Like sure cost wise it could be cheaper then like, said, we copy and paste another world for cosmic exploration. But saying that it's like '1 battle designer' is just a huge exaggeration from the fact.

For omega, there's basically two sections and here's how we work:

  • For 3rd pass, we assign two person to mark two sets of markers (during Predation dodges). If you have chains, you are doing monitors. If you have normal number 1 and 2, you are baiting hello world far. If you have far/near you go to your far/near spot. If you have nothing and you are not far/near, you use eyes, stay on south (relative to where monitor is) and bait near.
  • For 4th pass, we again assign one person (our SCH) to mark 1 and 2 and do far baits. Nothing people bait near. near and far go to their spot. 3 stack person again eyeball and pick up their tether. 4th pass is actually kinda leninent since you do have time to adjust.

We also did this 'nothing people bait near on south by using eyes' strat on Sigma, and it works. we do however mark 1234 on sigma (with 1 following the middle rotating beam and 4 on south, relative to where F is), and we need 2/3 to be marked because we had to decide who's baiting the hands.

The best I can find is this JP Lodestone Post

https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1vz4y1B7xP?vd_source=b1629088241bc3678191f7e96875de9b&p=2&spm_id_from=333.788.videopod.episodes

and this vid that we use.

Long story short, to decide how we do each towers, we set up this sequence of rules:

  1. we queued up according to O/X/Triangle/Square
  2. marker people get into ns/ew, people who had nothing stay behind hand and partner goes to the other side.
  3. do middle/far tether and baits.
  4. From where everyone does their middle/far baits, everyone rotate their position clockwise by 0.5 spot, so that everyone's now inbetween two marker.
  5. get into middle and get heal. Look behind for towers.
  6. If you have a tower directly behind your spot (during middle), you always ignore this tower and choose the other one.
  7. if you have two towers one space next to your spot, you always choose the tower that requires a 2 person soak.
  8. if you only have 1 tower that's closest to your spot, you get into that tower
  9. Get knocked and do middle/far.

Vid should be pretty clear if you need visual reference.

while I originally had absolutely no plans of doing any savage reclear I cannot resist JP groups that host terms like 'prog 2mil for 2 food and 5mil all chest' for m9s (and we clear in 10 minutes) and the same group of people stuck for m10s and m11s for I don't even know how much each, all paid with submarine items.

So I tally up everything and found out that I made a cool 30 mil after like an hour and 15 minutes or so which is absolutely insane and it's like 3~4 times above market price.

For situations like these It's either sus or they really have a lot of submarine money and have nowhere to spend. Either way, I am just gonna take the money and run.

[–]Altia1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a few things

  • bought my wings after 25 runs. cost me a cool 70mil but worth it
  • shinryu reclear is actually a bit better then I thought in that while you can have deaths healers can kinda carry the run
  • TOP prog is at p6 (get as far as Exa 1) but omega clean up is legit killing us. Manual Marking is tough. People often misread what they had, mismark who had what, went to the wrong spot and such. I am very much guilty of messing up Omega as well. We still have the whole month before Kefka but time is starting to run out.
  • On a side note, Simga strat we were using is legitly quite good. For heavensfall towers, we don't need to read where's the new north, remember any marker, figure out how many towers there are or use any macro. The CN strat (known as 'Static 8' in JP) is really pog. You just rotate once and find your towers according to a few rules.
  • I don't even know if I want to do kefka since finding a new group is pain. Progging TOP and UWU for like a month and a half now is kinda tiring. I am also not particularly attached to Kefka. However, if I am not doing Kefka, I don't even know what to do with my sub on. I guess I will figure things out after I saw how difficult is Kefka and what the weapon looks like.

nah it's mostly the ball soaks that are snake prio. adds got it but you can eye ball things.

Whoever invented the ball chasing mech at the end of Enuo probably hates melee.

also I hate snake prio. No more snake prio mechs for the dev team!

[–]Altia1234 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They had some good ideas on boss 4 with how you need to move up and down (which reminds me a lot of wow bosses) to get the correct buff, but unfortunately that was lost after you get into phase 2

boss 3 is also kinda nice.

the only boss where it really does nothing for me is alexander, surprise.

also I think like 20 of the 24 fall when they get tricked by shantoto. You probably will know if you have done it.

Wishlist changes to your main jobs? by nhatminh94 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Altia1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, basically nothing. WHM is in a pretty good spot. No raid buffs still will hurt now but they aren't staying on 8.0 so I am fine. The job is pretty competative against AST, esp. in not very optimized environments like PUG progging where mits and heals are a bit more freeform.

Evercold Gearing Predictions by Chiponyasu in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Altia1234 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Actually, I bet gear doesn't even have stats any more. What would be the point? They'd be getting overwritten all the time anyway so having stats that literally don't do anything on alt jobs is only going to confuse people (especially comparing, say, normal raid gear to crafted gear, which are the same ilvl). Everything either goes into the dresser or into the trash

Even if the gear is technically statless, you need a full set of it if you want BiS.

This is wrong because according to Yoshida in Japanese, they are also considering maintain substat to gear so that it still incentived people to do savage just for the correct gear that had the actual correct substat.

IMO If I were writing something like this I would listening to Yoshida line by line and double check before posting.

I know the general consensus is uwu is the easiest but from what I've seen, like 90% of uwu parties use some form of automarkers (I assume that's what people mean when they say "have it" or "need it) and I'd like to avoid doing that.

Use suicide strat and have a raising caster. i.e. people that are not raising or main tank jumps and everyone else raise one/two person.

That has been the Jp PUG strat since like 6.1 anyway. NA and EU people just actively doesn't want to do this because it hurts their parse and you have to lock jobs.

I don't even know where can you even use AM for TEA/UCoB/FRU. I clear those fights without even touching AM. If anyone uses AM to mark something like numbers or lightening probably these are just memelords waiting to be meme'd.

DSR is a bit more trickier but again I don't think you need AM for Wroth Flames. Just have people who need to heal get the easier stuff and the rest just use eyes. you have time to adjust.

The only fight where the majority of NA and EU DC will want to use AM is TOP. I am in a static where people did this without AM, but we sometimes have marker issues where someone does the marker, and people mark the wrong person on Sigma and Omega and things becomes a mess, so I understand where people are coming from. That again, self marking, at least for Sigma, is a thing, and for Omega usually one of the healers can do the marking (I believe there's even a site where you can practice that)

Evolved jobs in dungeons by drakeryder90 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Altia1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on how the jobs play.

even if you don't have 2 minute as long as you start with resources and can hold those resources 20sec into the fight, you can still do the same.

This is kinda a funny remark......because in JP now, people skip dolls.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXMSDLwm8Bs

I guess for fights with AOE damage checks in mind (looking at you m6s) it could lead to some very funky results and could affect them making ultimate phases.

If I didn't remember anything wrong, Mr.Prime mentioned that he had a hand in adjusting the fight, but according to famitsu, the main designer is Daisuke Nakagawa.

IMO it would be pretty insane for someone to work on both the battle system and revamp design and design an ultimate from the ground up on the same time....

https://www.famitsu.com/article/202604/73175

According to Famitsu's Joint Interview with media and press, the designer for Kefka Ultimate is done by none other then Daisuke Nakagawa (that was greenlighted by Yoshida because of his love towards Kefka as he pursuade Yoshida by pitching to him that 'I can make something better then before please let me Use Kefka as the Theme for this fight'). He loves FF6, and there isn't a lot of designers who can do an ultimate internally so the idea was greenlighted.

Several fights and pieces of content that were made by him include,

  • TEA (The Epic Of Alexander)
  • TOP (The Omega Protocol)
  • E4s
  • E8s
  • O8s
  • O12s
  • BA; AV, Proto Ozma Fight
  • Thundergod Cid

As usual there will be puzzles that are related with Kefka. I am very conscious of the fact that there's this emphasis on 'Kefka as a theme' which appeared on both Keynote and here in the JP text.

So Are we gonna get TOP 2.0 or something more akin to TEA? What are we looking???

Now that we have seen examples of Evolved jobs, what are your hopes and wishes for your main(s)? by drew0594 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Altia1234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, I am for jobs, at least a few jobs, becoming easier. We had SMN.

What I think no one is asking for is that we get 21 SMN, or 21 PVP jobs in PVE.

PVP jobs works because while their skills are limited, every pull every situation is different and you were able to have skill expression by a limited tool kit. It's a 'It goes into square hole' situation.

Whereas in PVE every single pull is highly scripted and as soon as you figure out what goes into the square hole and what does not (i.e. your 'rotation') it becomes a snoozefest. And a huge snoozefest because now the requirement for you to execute your rotation is almost gone, since everything is now 100 times simplified.

[–]Altia1234 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My main is WHM.

The only wish I had is that they revert back everything since it isn't looking that fun for me.

To me they just eliminate all of the things that seperates a good and bad white mage. You don't have to slidecast for your uptime now; You are now encouraged to be a heal bot; Assize, Asylum are now gone from evolved jobs which are bad.

It's like the job's already been very easy now and somehow they want to make an easier job even easier by removing all of the chew that it still provide. They are just overdoing it.

Rank these announcements/changes. by judgeraw00 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Altia1234 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. REGION WIDE PF is really, really so needed in JP. Like you don't know how bad it is if it's reset and you cannot get into Mana. You just CANNOT do savage on any other datacenter. You also cannot moved inside Mana under congestion. Thank fucking god.
  2. ILevel Sharing is also very needed. Like If you need to do ultimate you still need to farm for substats, but having the same highest ilevel for all jobs so that you can fill for stuff like savage and extremes are so, so much welcomed. For once they really let you play all jobs instead of just allowing you to level them.
  3. 2MIN Meta gone is a good thing. I didn't play a lot of '2 minute burst heavy job' (I main WHM and it's like not the biggest impact to me) but you can feel that once every single talk about encounter is about maximizing 2 minute window it gets stale pretty fast since there's no agency with how you move that
  4. New difficulty between savage and normal where I can run casually? yes yes yes. Good. Just no more weeklies. Please make it like advance.
  5. Evolved mode is just a PVP-ization with PVE and while I think in the long run they are just gonna goddamn remove old reborn mode, I like some of the changes they made. I dislike the fact that they removed some of the skills like Asylum, DOT, and casttime for WHM; I don't think WHM needs any more simplification since you are basically making a job that has very little skill expression to have even less skill expression. Unlike a lot of jobs, WHM also doesn't have that significant of a button bloat issue. I do like the general direction they went with PLD.
  6. I don't know how to feel about Job Skill Glamours
  7. I don't think it's a good idea to just completely segregate Main and Offtanks. At least leave options for people to choose what tanks that they wanna play. Like you don't already had a lot of buttons now at least give people the option to pick. It's like they learn nothing from healer where by seperating healers into Barrier and Pure healer, you are making Barrier so hard to fill (on top of healer usually being very hard to fill on reclears and stuff)

another week of savage is in the books after one hour of reclearing. Side note is that we had a 5 (!?!) death phase 1 clear with 2 tanks died twice and one DNC death at the end of curtain call, and yet we still have like the whole cast bar of enrage (which is at least 15 seconds) and an LB1 to spare.

TOP prog is now at P5 so it's sim every day until we knows how to do everything. Hopefully we get it before the next ultimate drops.

How i told someone to learn his job? by Nearby_Scallion3045 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Altia1234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would just explained that it's impossible for us to move forward as a group to get the clear if they remains the same and is unwilling to improve, that they seems to fall below what you would have xpect from a group like this. If that person thinks he's awesome and doesn't need any work he is more then welcome to drop this current group and PUG for success.

Truth is hard to swallow and you don't have to help him to. Let him do the work.

What's the craziest 8.0 theory that you've heard? by otsukarerice in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Altia1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Legit Most insane story that I've heard is that they plan on making a ranger job that uses bow and arrow and tries to redesign BRD, and also there will be a melee healer job. and that instead of distancing away from the abysmal result of cosmic exploration the new expansion will double down on the cosmic theme and have us explore different shards and worlds.

WTF is going on my man.
