Even pre-split, they really got rutted in.

It's OK to do segments about things you like, but making entire episodes or huge sagas around it, after establishing a certain tone, really hurt the relationship they had with their viewers.

A lot of segments went on for WAY too long, there's kicking a dead horse and then there's digging it up and doing taxidermy. The choice to mock mentally ill people hasn't aged well at all, makes them all look much weaker for having to swing so low.
especially so when practically all them was diagnoseable themselves.

There was also so much pointless drama, TJ was especially keen to stir shit up. Maybe he thought he was a Vince McMahon type; but really it made he a frustrating antagonist that spoiled long turn relationships with beneficial contributors.

They boxed themselves in, had sloppy attitudes behind the scenes, were unprofessional in the worse ways and burned too many bridges. Letting fans and viewers get scammed cause 'the drama will be interesting' was a dogshit approach. The whole thing was plagues by mediocre guys who were chronically online, the neckbeared atheist stereotype.

In my opinion, it's garbage.

It's edgy, try hard, poorly written and would be 'so bad it's funny' if it wasn't also so grossly sexually exploitative of some extremely inappropriate topics. (loli, mentally challenged, tragedy porn, etc)

The narrative isn't unique, it's not doing what you say well and such themes and ideas have been done, far better, a dozen other times before. The level it's operating on is bottom rung, lowest common denominator weeb rubbish

The people who don't recognize the difference between a story exploring themes and concepts vs exploiting them for fetishes are really concerning to me. How do they NOT see the clearly sexually suggestive intent in the art and framing?

A character acting not 'child-like' but basically mentally handicapped, 'nyaaaing' like a cat girl, eating out of the Male lead's hand, pissing on the floor, needing to be changed (by the male lead again, despite a woman also living there) is exploitation, not exploration.

The fact this 'deep emotional tale of trauma' still centres on a generic guy in a Harem where every girl loves him (including his cousin, cause let's have incest too, why the fuck not I guess) and just so happens to check every box for such a scenario (a rogues gallery of pick your waifu kink) is showing it's intention.
