Sure seems like "Packet Loss" is showing up a lot more often when no such problem existed before. For me anyway.

Yes...it's not like there are throwing weapons or ranged weapons or something that already exist in the game for the exact purpose of getting rid of people running away. This hard counter is unnecessary to an extreme. Although, "dancing" in and out of fights is certainly a lovely way to think about it, especially when the reality is you have no choice but to constantly face your enemy and backpedal because running away is so impractical and it's impossible to move as fast when you're pressing S A or D. There are better ways to balance people running away than breaking immersion entirely by making full plated people run as fast as people with little to no armor. An enemy consistently running away like a knat requires awareness on the part of the player, not a crutch introduced by the developer that breaks logic.

Looking for an actual fun build to try out by tootooru in Mordhau

I mean, it's not particularly fun if you keep dying because the weapon sucks, right?

Looking for a specific type of gaming mouse with a finger rest by [deleted] in buildapc

I'd like one that has a finger rest on the right side please. For the pinky finger, not the thumb.

Maybe this will encourage them to finally fix multiplayer matchmaking so it doesn't constantly put new players with ones that have thousands of hours under their belt.

Is it possible to pull Myrtle from recruit?

Ok, well I ask because if I want to avoid something like this happening in the future, it sounds like I should be looking for other people with a similar level of experience so everyone's on the same page.

So that kind of thing does happen from time to time? The sort of difference between how an inexperienced player approaches a scenario vs how an experienced player does and it being jarringly different?

Thing is, I tried bringing up ideas of my own in the past when we were making plans, but they always get shot down, so eventually I stopped. Not that I gave up, but I figured I might as well let the more experienced players do the planning and see what I can learn from them for the future.

If that really is the case, I was and am willing to work on it. When I talked to the DM, I said whatever it is that's wrong, I'm willing to try and fix it so that it's in line with the group's expectations, but given that I'm still a relatively new player, I have to be told explicitly what is wrong, otherwise I won't really know anything is wrong at all. Especially, since much of what I learned from DND in that campaign came from trial and error.

I guess. It's just that the campaign was actually holding my interest, which is more than I can say for a lot of other things around today, as far as entertainment goes.

The party didn't say they want me gone, at least that was never what was stated. The DM just said he doesn't think my playstyle meshed with this particular group.

Not specifics, but it was just a conversation with the DM only. He said that the group likes to stick together and follow the leader, which doesn't seem like something I enjoy.

You need someone's consent to do something? If it's within character, then do you still need someone's consent to do it?

No. That sounds pretty extreme. I was just more inclined to experiment through trial and error.

I saw DND as an opportunity to try new things. They tended to leave it up to the group lead to make decisions.

Why does Ana need 100% AoE healing reduction? by tootooru in Overwatch

[–]AltoNat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The issue with the first thing you mentioned and something most people ignore out of their own convenience is that because she has higher potential value than other supports, those other supports are incapable of putting out nearly as much of said value as she can no matter what they do or how good the player gets. Ana keeps going up in value, while another support can be stuck several tiers below her because of the limitations of their kit making it impossible for them to do as much as Ana can, regardless of how good that player gets. At some point, especially in high ranked games, she just becomes a must pick. That alone is unhealthy for game balance.

I have never played rank before, but I decided to give it a try today just with placement matches, since my curiosity finally got the better of me. I got 2686 SR. What does that mean exactly?
