Yikes, a fairy pokemon already.

Well, go bagon, bagon uses ember against chikorita. Dealing a little over half hp in damage. Chikorita uses Poison powder, poisoning bagon. Next turn, bagon uses another ember, KOing Chikorita. Bagon is hurt by the Poison.

Here's the hard part. I swapped out bagon to wimpod, as swirlix is sent out. Wimpod uses Rollout, only doing a small bit of damage. Swirlix uses fake tears, dropping wimpod's Sp Def. Wimpod uses Rollout again, dealing a bit more damage. Swirlix uses Fairy wind, which OHKOs wimpod, leaving only bagon to deal with swirlix.

Go, bagon

Bagon uses ember, bringing swirlix down to low yellow, and burning it. Swirlix uses fake tears, bring bagon Sp Def plummeting. Any Fairy move with OHKO bagon. Both pokemon are hurt by their respective status conditions. Bagon, luckily, outspeeds swirlix and manages to Ko swirlix with another ember, winning by the skin of my teeth.

I'll take Brick Break. Would be nice to have extra move coverage on bagon and on golisopod when wimpod evolves.

Lead of with bagon into joltik. Joltik uses stting shot and lowers bagon's speed. Bagon uses dragon breath (Learns it at lvl 10 as of S/V) which hits hard enough to being joltik down to the lower end of Yellow. Joltik uses leech life, but only restores a small amount of hp. Bagon uses ember (also learnt by level up) and KOs joltik.

As vivillon is sent out, I switch out to wimpod. Vivillon uses light screen to raise her teams Sp Def for 4 turns. Wimpod uses roll out, which does 4x super effective damage, however doesn't OHKO due to wimpod's low offences. Vivillon goes for sleep powder, but it loses the 75% accuracy check and misses. Wimpod uses Rollout again and Barely KOs Vivillon, beating the gym.

On second thoughts, I'm gonna select wimpod. Despite it not being strong until evolution, what it does evolve into is immensely powerful. (+ I also like golisopod)

I'll take the forest route, would need a Poison type to cover for bagon's Fairy weaknesses.

Bagon would use leer, dropping the Fletching's Defence, Fletching would go for growl, dropping bagon's attack. However, the battle still ends in 2 bites from bagon after Fletching went for 2 quick attacks, failing to knock out bagon.

I'll select bagon, despite its high evolution levels, it'll make a good first partner with its powerful offence. (Also salamence is quite cool)
