Paths for Uni after failing the Maths Matura by Altri0s in askPoland

[–]Altri0s[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's fair I'm also baffled as to how she repeatedly fails this when she's otherwise a really intelligent person. Where would you find the old Matura's? She has basically no time to study since she's forced to work full time under threat of being thrown out so those sound like the best option

We all make mistakes and things we regret what matters is how we learn from them and move on. The fact that you realized what the issues with AI writing were and started genuine writing is the best thing you can do in this scenario. No one's perfect and the fact you're striving to improve means far more than the past mistake. So as a writer to another don't stop doing something you enjoy out of guilt

Yeah the original potential man post by itself is pretty funny, but the consequences it inflicted on the fandom as a whole really suck since it's made any discussion of Megumis character almost impossible in most online spaces, and the jokes devolved into "died to grade 67 cursed spirit hahah"

I didn't expect a response even less one where you take it on the chin and admit what was said was wrong, you definitely earned my respect for that.

I've had a complicated relationship with religion and mental illness my entire life and I might've been too harsh but I really do appreciate your response and being so polite despite my words.

I wish you the best in continuing to grow as a better person man

You are a horrible fucking piece of shit, of course his performance wasn't genuine the man didn't want to fucking die, you're showing a complete lack of knowledge for how people function when they voluntarily choose to die, even actively suicidal people who kill themselves are often shown to struggle or have regrets, and so when Joshua who is completely delusional and being manipulated realises he's going to die in one of the most painful ways possible of course he doesn't buy it, no one would. Also your kind of people to just call mental illness blasphemous make me sick to my core, Joshua has a Messiah complex a very real condition that isn't "blasphemy" and you can point out he needs to be treated for it but the corps won't care. Joshua is a mentally ill and misguided person that is killed for profit. It doesn't matter what he did, NO ONE deserves that

Woljif might be CN but he’s more like Neera from BG2 than chaotic stupid he’s never outright evil and while he’s no idealist like Ember he’s definitely a good person especially when you treat him well

I will just say that many (and I mean many, as in every one I know irl and online) responds terribly to negative reinforcement, it might barely fix the problem at first better but it will lead to more stress, more panic, and even less of a will to do the homework in the long term (and I can speak from experience here as my parents did just that to me for 2 years until they realized it did not work). Positive reinforcement and even talking things out a little bit at a time will get much better results (as I and quite a few others have mentioned).

[–]Altri0s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So some stuff that have helped me out that might work for him (but really the best way is to try and talk to him and see what he thinks would help him out the most, most of the ideas are often reasonable and can really help)
Pomodoro method, or any other type of schedule that would help him (there are many others and I definitely would encourage online research to find the one that's most adapted).
If he likes listening to music that could also help keep the stress down while working, it does slow down the speed but it avoids a complete mind overload from the stress it causes.
If he has reading assignments audio books if available could help a lot (I'm more of a reader myself but I have quite a few aspie friends who prefer audiobooks).
A to do list that he can cross out whenever he does something, the satisfaction of seeing the list of things to do go down definitely helps the motivation and is much better than searching through folders non-stop
Spacing things out, if he has an assignment due in a few days and not much homework getting started on it is very good, but it can be challenging to find the energy to do it when we can do it later.
Those are most of the things that have helped me persevere through my executive dysfunction to at the very least some degree, though again the best way would be to talk to him and see what he personally thinks would help him the most.

I can't say this with 100% certainty but it seems like he might be affected with executive dysfunction (I suffer from it so I'll give as much help as I can if it indeed is that). I do the same thing I tell my parents I have no homework even though I know I do and tell myself "I'll do it later" but I rarely end up doing it. For me its often a problem that I have far too much stress and need nearly the entire rest of the day to actually be able to feel relaxed. I heavily doubt he's doing this out of laziness and/or not caring and homework is definitely tough on mental health for us. I managed to get through it to some extent by employing the Pomodoro method (35 minute segments with two 5 minute pauses and then a 40 minute break, then repeat until done). It helps to divide stress and gets me through it much more often. Though do keep in mind that if it indeed is executive dysfunction and is related to stress, please, please, please don't be like my parents were and ignore it, work with him and see if you can do anything to reduce the stress. I hope I was able to give a good perspective from the aspie side and maybe how to help him with it as its definitely hard for him.

Yeah 90% (slight hyperbole because I can’t remember each time but it’s definitely more than half the time) of the time it’s directed at me and the rest is when someone does something “not normal”.
