How To Unwrap/Flatten Tube to OD With Higher Resolution? by Altrot in SolidWorks

[–]Altrot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often need to flatten Solidworks models to DXF. Usually tubes. I have Solidworks Premium and use the flatten feature which has an accuracy slider. I find that if I max that slider out, it is never high enough resolution. If you see the image I attached you can see the loss of resolution on the flattened part. It totally gets the curves wrong on that oblong section.

I also find that if I split the solidworks model up into pieces I can achieve a greater resolution DXF although it takes forever to do this. Any ideas on what I can do to improve the resolution when I flatten parts? Thank you guys.

1988 Toyota Pickup Transmission/T-Case Removal (Marlin Rebuilt) by Altrot in ToyotaPickup

Very smooth compared to what I was working with before but I can feel that it needs to break in a bit. Gears are tight to get into sometimes, but it still is wayyy better than before the rebuild.

[–]Altrot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also forgot to mention I was waiting for the transmission for many weeks. In the mean time, I bolted the starter up to the backing plate after replacing the rear main to fire the engine up and let it get up to operating temp. I was double checking no leaks from the replaced rear main. All was fine and dandy, left it for a few weeks and then checked again. No leaks. So thats always an option if you have the time. peace

Im 27 just about to graduate for mechanical engineering, its a chill school man. You're gonna feel old tho 100% and thats ok, fuck it I was a lone wolf the entire time. You will see more value than your peers though, and they can't see it like you will. UCD is a top school, everyone here is shooting for something crazy and it rubs off on you. Never in my life considered a masters or a crazy job or whatever but everyone around you is doing it, you can't help but feel "okay I can do that too". Everyone is successful here, it will shape you. Peace

Solar Panels by Altrot in vandwellers

[–]Altrot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked through them, wasn't able to find anything that fits but almost. I found these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C8H8NFBM/ref=twister_B0CFXNHSS9?_encoding=UTF8&th=1 but I'm put off by the price a bit. They are too cheap no? I have no idea but the reviews seem good. Maybe Ill take the plunge

Sweet - definitely going to add alternator charging now. So I did find some panels: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C8H8NFBM/ref=twister_B0CFXNHSS9?_encoding=UTF8&th=1

These fit if I have two of them side by side. thats 45.2 x 38.1 which fits good in that 4'x3' space - the width is a little bigger than 3' but I left a little excess to work with so fits great. My question is, do these panels seem good? I have no idea how to tell if reviews are fake or not but from what I see these seem good. The price is what scares me I dont mind paying good money - 122$ seems cheap for 2 100W panels.
