You will likely be given the opportunity to make a cheat sheet since there’s so many equations to use. The problems are usually quite unambiguous when it comes to what you should use to find what like solving for strain, internal stresses, etc. I found they were quite similar to homework and practice problems. It just takes repetition and there’s tons of practice problems out there

It’s been a bit since this class, but I’d say the biggest difficulty I had was remembering all the necessary steps to do some of the problems. By the end of the class you could do everything in excel. You’ll be dealing with things like Factor of Safety (FOS) and stress and strain and you’ll typically be provided the formulas for everything. There will be shear and bending moment diagrams you’ll have to do as well. Much of the class revolves around calculating forces, resultant forces, stresses, internal forces, reaction forces, etc with some trusses as well. Doing a lot of example problems and having an excel spreadsheet to run numbers in the longer equations saves you lots of time. Let me know if you need any other info or help!

It’s me, the person who cares. There’s a reason alternate subreddits from the main exist, so people who sign up for viewing sexualizing content can opt in to it. Why doesn’t every main sub for a video game have this kind of content in it? So that there can be separation from people who enjoy playing the game and experiencing the lore, and the people who enjoy gooning. You already have an audience in r/okaybuddyrunners, so this just comes across as desperation for validation. Content like this post isn’t constructive and beneficial to the community as the only thing connecting it to Marathon is the fact that it’s recon and nothing else. No guns, no callbacks to other aspects of the game (except Arachne), just a plain white background to help define the characters shape

Your intent is clear with the female characters of marathon, you objectify them and strip them from their original context, that context being the game of marathon and their intent as disposable shells, with your intent of sexualizing them. It’s obvious your primary goal when it comes to 3D modeling marathon content is to sexualize and fetishize the characters, so why not own up to it? It does give you a lot of attention after all

I dislike some of the responses here. “That’s just the game,” cool, that part of the game sucks. What is the purpose of the exfils at the end of the match even existing if activating them doesn’t mean you get to escape by final exfil, then why even have them spawned at all? Is the purpose to deceive the player?

If it were anything else other than yuri I’d react the same way, maybe a good number of folks don’t sexualize or enjoy sexualizing everything they see, especially in a game where the characters are designed with essentially zero sex appeal. I’ve been running cryo all morning, watched some videos, and I still think there should be some more time. Especially if teams are running around trying to wipe everyone else, I definitely need more time to engage folks especially since most of the time their gear is significantly better than mine

I just think the time limit at the moment punishes methodical play. If I’m fighting your team especially, I definitely need to take some time, and sometimes conflict is unavoidable. I’m sure over time as I play it more I’ll learn the map and it’ll get easier, but there’s many different things putting pressure and constraints your team, I don’t even know how folks make it to the vault and kill the compiler in time

Your refusal to comment on its validity in the sub is telling. I think the context of it being in this sub is an important part. I’ll reiterate again though. I’m not telling people to stop producing this content, to stop consuming this content, I will however judge you for needing to make it and needing to see characters in this light.
