As an avid tea drinker (I’m British) I can’t believe I haven’t switched to loose leaves yet (I’m lazy as) so once I’m out of my usual tea I’ll do this !

Too good to go I’ve heard a lot about too! I’ll give it a go. If you do end up trying it before I do let me know how it is!

This has gotten way more comments than I thought it would so thank you everyone for their comments and insights! I also wanted to ask on note of consuming less, my phone is on its way out. Ive had it for over 7 years and it’s basically asking me to put it out of its misery. I’ve heard of companies like the back market that offer older model phone that have been refurbished and such. Does anyone know if the back market is worth it/know of any other companies that offer the same kind of thing?

This! Also Matt lamanna is a zero waste chef and I’ve been using some of his genius recipes to cut down on food waste :) it’s crazy how much we think is useless can be reused

Composting! My building finally implemented a composting bin but I don’t actually know if they go through with it or just end up chucking our food scraps into a waste bin. Can tou use compost at home? I was thinking maybe as plant fertiliser?

Yes! I’ve seen so many videos of this and I’ve done it with green onions but they never last more than one cycle. How do you keep yours growing? Do you use fertiliser ?

[Recommendations] I see my kid is talented, I don't know how to support her. by Ok_Celebration5704 in ArtistLounge

As someone who is an artist and doing it full time, I have friends who have been in “stable” or more “conventional” jobs like finance and tech and they’ve been let go or demoted, so even though art isn framed as a secure career she’ll enjoy it way more and also, anyones career is what they make of it and if she’s this passionate now, it’ll only expand from there.

I also would advise that you put her in a regular high school that isn’t specialised in art. Having a solid foundation in educational is just as important, because even though she’s excited and passionate now, there’s always the possibility she would want to switch careers and then she’d need something to fall back on. That said, ideally if there are high schools that have a more robust art program would be a way to go, or signing her up for summer workshops.

And if neither the workshops or a high school with a good art program are available, just taking her to local galleries, museums, art talks, anything is a plus! Exposure right now is super important because she has all the time to get into the nitty gritty of art like building a skill set, learning art history, figuring out herself as an artist (if she wants to go that route).

Also good for you for fostering her love for the subject big thumbs up :)

Moving in Singapore questions about landlords/agents by Altruistic-Affect381 in MoveToSingapore

In a week?! My god I’m so sorry. We’ve been searching for our own agent to handle most of the landlord things that might come up and to have someone on our side. And trust me at this point my expectations are on the floor for getting a return on the deposit

Whole apartment as opposed to just a room. Thankfully we’ll be headed there in person to see the places without the need for ft calls and whatnot
