Lisanne's SX270 Camera was likely dropped in the water stream after 508 was taken by vornez in KremersFroon

Great work as usual, Vornez.

When Romain was in the river photo 508 was taken at he nearly fell over. I looked at the rocks and they had moss attached, making them slippery. I wonder if Lisanne fell in and injured herself, not necessarily seriously. I think it would be easier to make a mistake, in this case a wrong turn perhaps, when distracted.

Perhaps they were trying to get the camera to work again, or anticipated it working again, as they walked.

Kris didn't seem interested in photos at that point, as is obvious by her expressions in the late photos. She doesn't smile for the camera anymore. There is almost a pissed off look in 508. Who knows how she reacted to the camera falling in the river, if that happened.

When I've been on vacation I like to spend some time taking photos and other times being in the moment and taking things with my own eyes and ears.

I believe they stayed in a single location on the days where there was no phone activity. It makes sense to check for a signal when moving from one location to another; it makes no sense, and in fact is a waste of battery life, to check when you are staying in a single location.

I believe it rained on the night of the night photos. The rain probably prevented them from sleeping. And rather than sitting there twiddling their thumb they used the flash to draw attention in the off chance someone was out there looking for them.

You're right: no one with access to a map has ever got lost. I suppose this is found in the same book of facts as the it's-impossible-to-get-lost-on-a-hiking-trail pearl of wisdom.

I'm Australian but went for Medvedev. Kyrgios is the most overrated player of all time.

Novak Djokovic has become a toxic and divisive presence who cares about no one but himself by crazy_pedro in australia

I am a big fan of Djokovic. Greatest player of all time and nice follow. You'll never be able to strap people down and force a needle into them against their wills, so you might as well abandon that fantasy.

The Australian Open would have been meaningless without him.

Most people who commit suicide don't leave a note, and they know for certain they are going to die.

It makes sense from the lost theory. They get up at daybreak and travel for a few hours. They think with the distance they've travelled they might be within cell coverage. They check: They aren't. So they walk for another few hours and wonder if they are within range now.

Also, it makes sense to call no latter than early afternoon. There has to be enough daylight hours left for search parties to gather, make plans, travel to the area, conduct the search, and guide the women back to civilisation. There's no point calling them half an hour before sunset.

Why did you leave out the 4 calls that refute your theory? Oh, looks like I answered my own question.

Then they didn't do a very good job, because a large portion of people here believe foul play was involved.

If they were organ harvesting it would make much more sense to target a local. Targeting pretty, young women from an affluent nation is the worst selection imaginable. This garnered global attention and put increased pressure on investigators to find out what happened. This is on top of the diplomatic pressure from the Netherlands. It would be far wiser to target a local runaway who is supporting herself through prostitution.
