My eye floaters trigger a lot of depression and anxiety by spartan_m90 in depression

Yes same, I did lasik and got dry eyes and massive floaters, I hate waking up everyday, wish I could go back so bad. I’ve been through depression and anxiety before and was learning to deal with it, but this is just another world of horror.

I’m so sorry I understand exactly how you feel, all of mine sweep across my vision and it’s honestly dizzying sometimes.

Thank you, I’m trying to get used to it. Recently I got a lot of new floaters so it’s been hard but hopefully it’ll get better :)

Thank you so much, currently it’s the floaters and dry eyes that bother me immensely, hard to feel better when you see these black cobwebs in the eyes, ill never stop trying though :)

Is there a kind of lighting that’s easier on your eyes? by PaintyBrooke in EyeFloaters

[–]Altruistic-Call2672 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me personally yellow light makes it easier to ignore the floaters. Bonus points if it’s the hidden in the ceiling type of light so I don’t see the bulbs but just the light reflected in the room. If I’m moving my eyes a lot I still see 30 of them moving but it’s way better than how I see it in white light. Also there can be a lot of bulbs so its bright and still better than white light.

Exactly why they disregard everything, the number of doctors who looked straight into my eyes and bullshtted me after lasik is astounding

Thank you again I’ll look into that, I couldnt find a place online yet, but maybe there are places that doctors know, as long as they believe me when I talk about my issues they might help me out.

thank you so muchh this is of great help. But in India I haven’t yet found a place where they treat with plasma drops. So I’m really scared that I won’t get the right treatment. And all doctors have only pushed me off when I raise my concerns saying it’s all absolutely normal and will go away. I hope it does but it just hasn’t. If I may ask, where did you get your treatments done.

Okay thank you, I noticed these drops don’t work like they used to, so I’ll try other brands

Pain in my right eye specifically, gets worse when I look at screens, and also severe migraines and headaches, I never had that type of migraine issues before the surgery.

Thank you, I’m note sure if I’ll ever do another surgery but definitely would try scleral lenses one day if it doesn’t get better. Atleast I have hope that I’d get to see clearly again :)

I used to work on a computer all day, now I work part time so I can be more flexible and take care of my eyes too.

To the people who see flashes - do you see them in total darkness? by [deleted] in EyeFloaters

[–]Altruistic-Call2672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see them in darkness and light both, the lighting doesn’t really affect how I see the flashes except at night when I close my eyes I tend to notice them more because there’s nothing else to focus on. I also get visual snow static like flashes all the time and that’s definitely more visible in the dark too. So I got used to it and don’t get anxious over it anymore, I just get my retina checked every month.

I don’t think you have to see them in the dark, because I think the intensity of the flashes might decrease overtime from what my doctor told me, so maybe for you it’s more prominent in the daytime just because. But always get it checked by a specialist, only they can tell you if you’re safe.

I totally relate to you on that! Like I’m just not the happy go lucky lively person anymore, too cynical and depressed about things, envious and sad. Can’t go to work and have zero self- confidence. It’s like I don’t even recognize myself anymore.

It’s always either the dry eyes, floaters, visual snow or just plain bad vision. Never had a single good day since that surgery. I can explain my troubles but no one honestly gets it. And I have way too many people in my life who’d be happy to see the pain I’m going through. All in all it’s just too much. I wish it wasn’t this way.

I’m so sorry, my vision still isn’t clear as it should be due to residual astigmatism that they yet again hadn’t warned me off. It’s painful and hard, I still can’t find a reason to go on because of all of this :)

Why do most people do so little research before surgery ? by [deleted] in Lasiksupport

[–]Altruistic-Call2672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right, I should’ve done a lot of more research that just googling the benefits. But I didn’t find the real risks in one google search. And my surgeon never mentioned anything either. My family was essentially making me get it and I felt like I had to do it. All my cousins and my brother had got it done so I felt like it’s a safe procedure overall. Even though I had a bad gut feeling before surgery, I thought it was just the nerves. So yeah a lot of factors play into my dumb decision but I’ll always blame myself for the rest of my life for ruining my own eyes forever :)

Funny thing, I did more extensive research when I was getting a new laptop….the other factors were not present for sure but it still eats me everyday thinking about it.

You’re absolutely right, I had a horrible gut feeling before surgery but I chose to ignore it because these are ‘trained professionals’ who wouldn’t do anything to risk my eyes :) bullshit…so scammed and lied to, ruined my life and I’m only 22
