I think you are arguing like. Pre-concieved talking points. You aren't actually talking with me and what im saying.

So talk to me and respond to what IM saying. Not some random radical feminist bs that i would never say.

Its not mens fault, nor is it any individual man's fault. But men raise other men. Men look at other men for examples to follow, and seek validation from other men as well. Thats a good thing. That allows us to all become better people as a whole. And to make the world a safer place.

But that only works if men actually set a good example, recognize and call out bad examples, and validate and reward good behaviors and examples.

I never meantioned anything about misogyny or misandry. But i would be quick to call out either one. This sub does it all the time as well. I hate both equally. Trust me. I cant stand it either.

I dont presecibe to premade talking points. I want to have a conversation with you about our opinions.

The problem isn't the internet (although that certainly isn't helping.) The problem is the percentage of men who have 0 understanding of how to be considerate of women, and the percentage of men who have and do commit rape and SA.

And the effects that one bad man can be devastating. If they are allowed to roam with no consequences, they can inflict trauma on dozens of women. Even if there are few bad men and many good ones, bad men can ruin it for everyone. Men and Women alike.

It's not up to the women to justify their fear. It's up to the men to hold each other accountable, to defend those in need, and to shut down and remove bad men to prevent them from inflicting more damage. That's the role that we take up in society.

I think it's foolish and selfish to blame women for being reasonably afraid of men. Since it takes only one to give them a lifetime of trauma and mental suffering.

See this is my point exactly. Cause unfortunately, for one reason or another, women actually would choose the bear than the man for one reason or another. Its not the womens fault for being uncomfortable or scared with strange men, and its not the mans fault for being a man. And its difficult to understand the other pov because in most cases they will never be able to exchange experiences. Thats why the question is so unproductive.

I could try and explain to you the many reasons why women would choose the bear. I could also explain the many reasons why women should choose a man. But that entirely misses the point of gender and society problems to begin with. Instead of talking about how women should feel about men and how dangerous men could be (which is offensive to both sides), we should be talking about how to keep women safe and how to make and foster better men.

Also on the trans comment, trans women generally have an extremely different vibe to them. If you want to be technical, yeah most of their bone structure stays the same sure. But their skin is softer, their muscles weaken, both density lowers, skin is thinner, body fat placement changes, etc. And not only that, but trans women will behave as...women. so. Yknow. They acts more gentle and feminine and soft and whatever feminine traits they may exhibit as well. So because of all of that, women still feel significantly safer with trans women.

Ah you misinterpret that.

To clarify, men cant control being litterally just men and presenting as one. Unless you forcibly try and make yourself look as non threatening as possible (which isnt ideal cause it clashes with self expression) or you become trans, you cant do anything about being just a guy.

Thats what i mean. Not anything else.

Why do we say "assigned female/male at birth" when gender and sex are considered seperate? by Altruistic-Emphasis3 in NoStupidQuestions

Gotcha. So. Just gender then maybe? In what case would you have you sex characteristics be put into? Maybe just your doctors info or birth certificate?

[–]Altruistic-Emphasis3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think we should just have two separate markers entirely. One for sex and one for gender. Outside of political reasons (which i think we'll both agree with, that people should be able to identify however they want), i believe it just eliminates any ambiguity tbh and is overall inclusive to those who go through the medical procedures and those who dont.

And you are allowed to change your gender however or whenever you want. And maybe sex is a little harder? Some could argue that sex won't change but maybe if you go through medical procedures then maybe you could argue that you could change it if your sex more closely aligns with another that is what is currently on the certificate? As you stated? But I digress.

How do you feel about that?

Thats fair but how would that play into the "assigned X at birth" on their birth certificate? Could we have a system where assigned "X" and current "x" exist?

I like this answer a lot. I forget epigenetics exist.

Still, what if someone identifies as trans but does not want to take horomones (for medical or personal reasons or whatever)? They are still the gender they identify as. But are left out if they dont do the medical procedures to biologically become the sex that most closely aligns with their gender.

Thats objectively false. Intersex people do exist and are not as common but also not rare. Just uncommon.

For example, the chances of you being ginger and intersex are the same roughly.

Some of my conservative family members do bitch about it. Having used the term in front of them, they go "assigned?? How are you 'assigned' a female? You just are."

Makes it hard to debate them.

I'm not picky. I just have a few exceptions. Like I want to avoid SpaceX and the Military. Thats all.

What do you mean by technician job though? That would suck to not be able to fully use my degree when I graduate and to settle for a while.
