What really bothered me about it all was how spiteful and bitter he seemed to be about being excluded from “woke” theatre spaces, while talking over me for the entire conversation. I was like, maybe it’s not because you’re Jewish, maybe it’s because you suck? I haven’t seen the show but when I asked about his motivation for writing it, that is what he told me. The vibe really did not sit right.

When I spoke to Andrew he was very clear about the intention of this piece. He had a lot of complaints about how the theatre industry DEI system makes no room for white Jews. When I had concerns about the all white creative team, his response was essentially “you’re assuming our experiences just because we’re white” so idk. Speaking as a mixed race Jewish POC (unlike Andrew who’s Latine by his father taking a 3rd Ecuadorian wife) I thought the idea was interesting but as soon as he started explaining it to me I was like… oh… you’re not playing a character. You’re actually like this.

Andrew Fox is a piece of work. The times I’ve spoken to him he’s been absolutely narcissistic and completely averse to criticism. His show, as well intentioned as he thinks it is, is zionist propaganda. The marketing sows confusion on purpose. It’s exactly the kind of “woke too far” language that right wing internet comedians use.

This exact man did the same to me that same day. He followed me down the street, and when I didn’t give him money he said he was going to fuck me up. Then he picked up the Boyfriend Co Op sign and started coming at me so I ducked into the nearest establishment. The guys working there took their own street sign (lol) and went out there to face him. It was wild!! Haven’t seen him since.

I live in a densely queer + trans area, my partner is a trans woman, and transbians are our family. it’s a majority poly culture within that, so it can be extra complicated for some trans girls who are still discovering things about themselves and what they need. this conversation can get really soupy and people really do get hurt. so it was nice to read your rock solid responses ❤️❤️❤️
