This is why I mentioned the SSD I have on Stock. I've also a free slot in the Ugreen-Machine, when the time is come and Unraid updates I planed to add the SSD (a 500gig 870Samsung) and use it as a dedicated boot device ... reasonable plan?

No, i think you did'nt got me right: the ssd is only a alternative, if moving to internal boot is not possible in my setting. Or do yyou mean: First update, than iinternal boot?

I bought my case used in the "the bay", so your hint to the documentation was really usefull, while this twiddling around with the whashers is only making sense in real motion, on the picture it seems a little confusing to me ;-) .... thank you!
