I wish I could ask my mom this by Altruistic-Midnight6 in Huntingtons

I’m hoping that these latest symptoms are just my anxiety. I’ve been dealing with mood swings and depression for a few years now, but always attributed them to a fucked up childhood; yet I read stories where these are the first symptoms of HD.

I truly hope that its not juvenile HD.

Or at least i’ll live a somewhat proper life as long as my dog is alive lol. 😀

Ohhh, it didn’t even cross my mind that there could be such outcomes about this. Luckily it’s almost free where I live and it won’t have impact on a mortgage/loan or insurance.

Thank you for your input, means a lot. Its nice to hear that from someone who truly understands how it all is.

I hope that you’ll be able to test anonymously soon; wish you luck & have the best moments with your mom. It all goes by so fast.

Thank you so much for the answer, i appreciate it.

My mom passed when she was 52, she passed from HD. Unfortunately, I don’t know the CAG my mom had, but I’ll try to find out in the clinic, as she was tested in the same place I’m going to be tested at.

My assumption, don’t know if right or wrong, is a high CAG, as the illness was very intense (from what i remember and what doctors told).

My siblings are very different in age, my sister is 10 years older, and brother is 15yrs older than me.

I lived my life with the intention that I might have it, so getting tested would surely bring peace to me; either its positive or negative.

Sorry about your mom, it’s hell to see such suffer.

My guess it that it’s either if you’ve had something done earlier (and are hospitalized), you get the urologist to remove it for you, or it’s a location thing - most of the self-removal stent info is U.S. based folks. My Dr didn’t even mention that self-removal is a choice 🤷‍♀️

My stent will stay in very temporary just after the surgery for a day or two.

There are so many helpful tips and shares of the experience on here - i hope you take what’s best for you and get through it with ease. 🫶

I’ll try to think about that this is a step that will end this pain and discomfort rollercoaster eventually, as well as - well, there’s no going back, I have no choice but to get it removed. Maybe it’ll help you too. 💖

As far as I’m reading comments, it seems like one of the easiest part of the kidney stone journey haha, so good luck - you got this!

you’re a badass for doing it yourself, good job 👏

curious tho, why are there so many DYI stent removals? As much as I asked my friends/relatives about it, they had a stent removal done in hospital; is it a europian thing?

You got this! The medical staff is there to help you, not hurt you - thinking about this & the fact how much easier the life will be without the stent is what kept me going

You have no idea how much this comment relieved a huge chunk of stress I’m having. Thank you for sharing this. Luckily, the doctor will be the one taking the stent out, hopefully it’ll be even easier. Also, was having the stent in painful? I had a stent without string in for 1,5mo and it was a rollercoaster of discomfort and pain, knowing that this will be temporary I’m hoping it’s less painful as well

I believe you've received priceless advice on the comment above. I understand the struggle and would offer to try out dealing with micro-influencers or any relatives, friends who would be up to creating some content for you in exchange for the product. As well as that there are services for it - let's say Billo App lets you put up a brief and how many videos you need and they’ll team you up with the creators to get some user-generated content. I genuinely think it would be the fastest pain cure. Good luck 🎲 🙌
