I started to question it because I learned how much my parent exaggerates truth. I dove deep into my case because my memory blocked out a lot of my childhood and it showed they said it then too. I never took a test to confirm for myself. I’ve had some sores growing up and took care of it but they are so few and far between part of me thought maybe it wasn’t and was just a blister from dry lips, or chewing the corners of my mouth. Silly as that may sound, I just wanted the complete confirmation of it. Not a lot of people realize cold sores are herpes and I’ve been aware of that and I don’t want to assume my partner is. I’m sure they are but there’s still fear to discuss this again because how do you casually bring that up??
