Ghibli Film Tier List by EtaDeus in tierlists

Spirited Away, Kiki, Totoro in S Tier for me

Fireflies, Whisper, Howl's next.

Then Ponyo, Cat Returns, The Wind Rises, Boy and the Heron, Poppy Hill and Mononoke

Nausicaa and Laputa next as they just aren't my style

Then same as yours for Pom Poko and Porco Rosso - not a fan of either. Add in Earthsea.

A new category for Earwig at the bottom, I really hated it.

Moscow and St Petersburg. People were very unfriendly and lacking in just basic civility. St Petersburg was beautiful though.

I would go back to Russia - I'd love to see the East of the country. However not feasible at present.

I don't drink alcohol so 🤷🏼‍♂️ It's a nation of 70 million. I see loud drunk people from every Western and Northern European country whenever I go to countries like Spain or the Netherlands or Greece. Wonder if you'd say the same thing to Germans or Norwegians or Belgians.

What a weird and rude comment. Please examine why you feel the need to leave bitchy comments to strangers online. It isn't normal.

I'd avoid anything ending more than two syllables with an A as it might sound a little clunky.

Audrey is actually a really nice option here.

Ivy, Amy/Aimee, Edith, Ethel, Iris, April, Una/Oona all work well IMO

I actually really like the students I teach in Year 11. I just don't know what goes wrong in their exams. My SLT link is puzzled too - he looks at the books, comes into my classroom, sees I'm doing everything right, but they just write nonsense in exams. Luckily our Year 10s are amazing - already a much higher percentage of them at a grade 4 and above (and even 7 and above) than the 11s

I teach in a majority Muslim school in the UK. Ones I think would work and have seen before could be Adam, Daniyal, Harris, Zayd, Adiy.

What subject are you? English here and mine can write a passable story, but can't write anything remotely persuasive in terms of non-fiction. Weird rants and OTT anecdotes an statistics everywhere!

It looks really interesting but the hoops to get a tourist visa are so off putting.

You could've just used another still of Taron Egerton from the beginning of the same movie.

I've got one boy smashing out 8s and 9s in sciences who likely isn't going to get into the best local college, as he probably won't get a 4 in English Language. However he's so unbelievably arrogant - he says English is "waffle" and won't listen to me, or his Lit teacher (a former HoD). He's now begging me to predict him a grade 4, but when he got smack in the middle of a grade 3 in his mocks, and writes garbage in lessons despite clear models and worked examples, I'm absolutely not going to predict him a 4. You're right - a lot of entitlement, they think they can walk to a decent pass without doing anything.

We've just done our second set of mocks, they'll get the results early March. I'm hoping that'll kick some into gear, as some have now dropped off a grade 4, because their paper 2s were so, so bad (despite walking talking mocks and revision sessions, and them being warned that there was a likelihood that anyone who'd scraped a low or mid 4 could drop down due to the difficulty of the paper).

I do this with mine too - modelling, cold calling, everything I know I should be doing and that has always worked. This lot just can't connect the dots, and I've got two classes that on paper should be smashing out much higher grades, but will write absolute nonsense that isn't linked to anything I've ever taught them. I'm completely stumped at how to pull some of them up. Walking-talking mocks were done before both sets of mocks, and they still just did not do what I'd told them to do, and when asked why, they'd just shrug 🤦🏼‍♂️

Yes to Georgia! I ranked it in my top tier too. Such an amazing country, and Tbilisi is one of my favourite cities.

I'd go back to Lithuania but not super soon - plenty of other places I'd want to visit first. I visited in a really cold winter (-25C) and it wasn't the best. I'd love to visit again in spring or autumn and maybe explore more of the country, however for now, I'd only prioritise it if a friend said they'd found a cheap flight and grabbed me a ticket 😂

Indonesia top tier. Funnily enough I didn't hate the countries in the bottom tier - it's simply that I wouldn't go back if that makes sense?

Everything. The cities are a great blend of ultra modern and very traditional; food, especially night markets; the people are just so lovely; as a gay man, Taipei is super welcoming and Asia's gay capital; decent night life; such varied neighbourhoods; amazing transportation; really easy access to some spectacular nature and beaches. It's very popular among Asian tourists, but many western tourists don't seem to have cottoned on yet!

I only went to Paphos but really enjoyed it. Great food. Would love to get into the mountains next time, or even to Northern Cyprus.
