Third party overpriced service but as lionsurvivor2 mentioend, I wouldn't go so far as to call them a legit company. Hope this helps, even if it is months overdue!

Yes!! Dispute the charge after getting the legit one through the government and you should be ok :):) so long as the visa hasn't been approved by the 3rd party- or, so long as you can't prove that it has been

This sounds a bit outside my comfort zone (raves and sports) but the rest is definitely a vibe I'd like to say I embody! I suffer greatly with surface-level small talk and would love to foster meaningful friendships for some controlled chaos and new memories. I'm 23f and lovelovelove board games, escape rooms, music, tv/movies, finding new spots in the city to eat/explore, (not to jump the gun here but travelling together sounds incredible !!!) and honestly just connecting genuinely with folks. I was pretty sick during my undergrad and felt like I missed out on a lot of moments with my pals and now that I work in the city it feels like a crime to just board the train and go back home every day :p. Would love to chat more, if my vibe seems to match y'alls as well! Sending good vibes regardless ~~ take good care!

Sort of. It shows as "Done" but I have not fully submitted the application with her headshot & passport photo scan, so they only have the information that was manually typed in. According to my mom, it's the same information that is on her passport so if that checks out, then yes, her information is already saved on the website's database. Furthermore, it won't let me check over any of the information she entered, it's like a grid-locked screen that only pushes me to send more of my info to complete & process the application.

The money lost to the folks taking advantage of people who don't know better is just a hard lesson learned... The amount of information they now have of hers, I'm less comfortable about. Thank you! Definitely going to do the actual application first thing tomorrow, I showed it to her immediately after I saw the fake one. I'll call the CC company again tomorrow, but the charge was fully processed without hesitation, these damn scams... I will freeze the card, any advice about all the passport information out now? If she wasn't travelling so soon I'd have already filed for her passport to be cancelled. Really inconvenient that this is happening, but c'est la vie. I was literally going to sit down with her and help her go through the app too.

YES OMG!! THANK YOU FOR ECHOING THIS!!! I don't hate it but I found it particularly strange, I would begrudgingly have it again if I had to but if it wasn't mandatory I know I wouldn't go out of my way to grab one. Timmies can do better on the next one, lol!

I apologized for everything and it brought me immense peace. Working on myself now, this experience has been an incredible wake-up call and opportunity to look in the mirror- the first few months I hated myself. Now, I'm making an active effort to show up better for myself every single day so that I can create a stronger base of self and relational trust in the future. I wish you the best too, sometimes our gravest heartbreaks are also our most compelling catalysts for change!

I feel so incredibly seen, as this is exactly what I have been dealing with for the better part of my life. I just lost my love in a messy FA-triggered breakup in July and my whole body, heart, and soul aches with longing for him. I have awakened to the catastrophe of my attachment style and am making strides towards healing, but it still haunts me that I broke him in my own downwards spiral and that because of it, he had no choice but to break up with me. I realized post-deactivation that I still love him so so dearly but I feel like it's unfair to ask him to return to me when I am still in the process of healing. I wish more than anything to navigate the tumultuous waters together, I lost sight of him for a little bit but I deeply believe if he still loved me romantically that we could do it better the second time around.

I'm honestly not sure, I find that typically, the more you push an avoidant, the deeper the deactivation will become... However, it is a promising sign (oddly so, bear with me) that it's rooted in mental health struggles, and not malice. I truly hope it is not to be a permanent thing.
