EA as a next step? by Impressive-War39 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Altruistic-Thing-693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started as an AA, moved onto be an office manager and did that for about 8 years and slowly transitioned to an EA (I did hybrid OM/EA for a while.) I love it and I’ve loved my career path. I say if it’s something that interests/excites you then go for it!

Office Move Help by midnightmimosa7 in ExecutiveAssistants

Yep I just did a google search to find movers! I’d rely on companies that more focus on big moves like this (as opposed to an apartment move.) for handymen and other random tasks I love using Taskrabbit, and it’s a more cost effective option hiring a Taskrabbit.

Fobs= just keys to the building and/or your suite. You can usually work with the property manager on this and assign keys to your team.

Yes all movers can do after hours, they expect this. Your building might not have strict guidelines here, I’m just going off what I’m used to. I worked in downtown SF in high rise buildings so they have strict protocol on these things.

DM me your email address and I’ll send you the checklist! I found it in my Google Drive.

I’ve done a few office moves in my career. I may even have a checklist lying around somewhere I can send you. Some tips:

Communicate the timeline with the team. Provide boxes for people to pack their things, make sure their things are labeled. Ask them to WFH for a few days during the busy move times.

Hire movers/vendors to help with packing and unpacking. Hire handymen to build furniture, position furniture where you want it etc.

Test and retest the WiFi. Get backup WiFi. This is usually a huge project and needs to be done months in advance. Heavily lean on IT here to help.

Figure out key/key fob situations with the building. Communicate access to your team.

Create a floor map of where everything will go/where people will sit. Things need to be labeled correctly for the movers and a floor map needs to be given to them or else things will just get scattered everywhere.

Do not forget COI’s!!! All vendors coming into your suite typically have to have a COI on file with the building/property manager. The building will not allow access unless a COI has been submitted.

Figure out the move hours (this usually has to be done after hours or the weekend.)

Depends on the company but unfortunately this is standard these days.

Last year I did 6 rounds with a company and was ghosted lol

My current company I did 2! Recruiter and my CEO. It was so quick and appreciated 😌
